I have a Fury playing on 1440p. 60 fps is doable, but the game is very cpu bound. With my Fx-8320E overclocked to 4.4ghz I get drops below 60. Playing on medium settings with high textures, dx 11, vsync off. If you want 4k you will need a powerful cpu to keep your minimum framerates up. Even with that I don't know if 60 fps average would be possible on 4k. You might have to lower a lot of the settings.

On the amd CPUs be sure set processor priorities in the config file so you use more cores, turn off turbo processor mode as it can lead to framerate instability.

I run with r9 290x2, medium settings wIth textures on high,at 2560x1440 with consistent 60fps on a amd fx-8350@4.1ghz

You are now the test rat. Good luck.

The CPU matters a lot for MWO, so we really can't tell you just based on the GPU if you'll have a satisfactory 4K experience. In fact, I don't think we have much data on 4K performance at all, actually, which makes it even more difficult to say.

Running Fury X with ultra/high settings at 2560x1440 and get 40-60 fps. Still tuning the settings so that it works well with Freesync but it is a huge improvement from the 1080 setup I had with a 7970 ghz before. The game is gorgeous in 4k.

Jet fire would you mind me asking what CPU are you using?

I'm running 4k resolution with Radeon 390X Crossfire set up. All settings on Ultra, Post AA, Shadows on Low. I'm averaging 70 fps, but heavy combat dips to around 40fps.

My system is as follows:
Core i7 975 EE @ 4.0GHz
12GB DDR3
Radeon 390X Crossifre @ 1150MHz Core 6500MHz Memory Catalyst 15.9.1
Windows 10 64-bit

Lowering effect detail and particles can improve your FPS further. Those are the two settings that are most demanding for the CPU.
I also lower shadows a bit. And somtimes environment. I leave the rest at ultra.

Fury X Crossfire user here, since Catalyst 15.11 (Crimson) I have lost 50% of frames - used to get 120 dipping to 80 at most - smooth as butter - now I am seeing 60 to 40 fps with drops and tearing. CPU is i7 5930k @ 4.5GHz. Any ideas?

EDIT: Scratch that - installing the 15.11 drivers reset my monitors refresh to non-native 60hz (I'm on a BenQ XL2730Z - 144hz), it also happened when I installed the 15.11 beta).
