I propose this feature after seeing a lot of people liking it, I dont know if I will get the same visibility here, but you can check the approval rating here http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4744318 and here http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4774357

We need a minimap upgrade in the "Drop Preparation" screen: bases, cap points and lances position like in the examples below:

Here the minimaps for Assault, Conquest and Skirmish

There are some people like me who enjoy to expose a simple plan at the begin of the match, there are people who appreciate this because follow simple indication in pug or more complex strategy in group queue is better than have a completely unorganized team, especially in conquest mode.

If before the release of dropship feature, identify your drop spot in the "Drop Preparation" screen was difficult but possible, now it's impossible, so you have to wait the end of countdown, wait the start up animation, finally open the map, study your position, study assault and light lances position, think a good plan with these information and start typing like crazy before all take different directions.

Even if nobody suggest what to do, it's good to know your start location so you can think in advance where to go and prepare a personal strategy depending on your mech build.

We can finally change the time wasted in the countdown in something more useful.

It's (probably) a simple feature to implement and I'll repropose it in next "Patch Notes" and "Town Hall Meeting" until PGI will reply.

"Like", suggestion and comments will be appreciated. Thank you.

I totally agree. Every time I get dropped I feel totally disoriented and have to take a few seconds to find my bearings. To take this one step further and make more fun variation for the players the company commander should be able to pick the drop points for Alpha, Bravo and Charlie lances on this map. Set 'attack' markers or 'move to' markers with different colors to indicate the different lances. The drop screen could become a briefing room instead of "GLHF" "GLHF" "Hi" "O>"

This is a truly needed feature. How about each lance get their own color too?
The lances get blue, green and cyan color depending on which lance they are in. Enemies stay all red of course.
This way we can find our assault lance even before we drop.

But then the colorblind would have a disadvantage so how about a small symbol on top of the allied mech symbols?
Such as a star behind the arrow for alpha lance for example.

Also it should show which mechs on your team have ECM so the commander can arrange them accordingly...

This would be an excellent feature, by the way PGI have to rework the marker system.. when I tryed to use it people complained (and with good reason) about the marker dimension, it's too big! When you reach a marked point you have difficult to see enemy, ally and even grid position in your minimap.

This would be a nice in game improvement, get the ability to know if an ally assault rather than a light is nearby you from the minimap would semplify your life.

Great idea, especially for CW, but also for group and even solo drops.

Would help with the little tactical thinking we have nowadays..

Yellow/red distinction between teams could be slightly troublesome. The rest, ship it damn it! Much want.

Nice.
I might suggest that the cap points and enemy bases remain unknown and do not appear on the compass or battlegrid until they have been scouted.
Would be nice if there was little randomness to their placement as well.

Heck, now that we can click on pilots and get a friend/report submenu, we should just be able to click on the mech names and get a list of their weapons + ECM/BAP. That way I can get a sense of who's brawling, who's sniping, who's lurming and who's scouting.
