Hello all, I caved in like a fool and got me the fancy Resistance II Mechs (Crab, Black Knight, Mauler and that light mech that isn't released yet) but I'd like to know what their playstyles are in stock configurations.
Are their stock configurations even viable? They seem to be very prone to overheating with all the energy weapons so I've noticed.
What are your experiences? I'm not asking for specific builds (I could look them up) but more about the mechs themselves, getting to know them a little from other players' experiences.

The Mauler is a classic long range fire-support mech. but can work pretty well as a brawler in a pinch. Just stay with your team mates and blast away.
The Black Knight and Crab are both mobile energy vomit builds. Run and gun.
The Wolfhound will be a fast attack mech along the lines of the Jenner or Firestarter.
