I was wondering are there camo and color packs? Like a nice big package of themed colours.

Like "Forest Camo Colors Pack" or "Flashy Colors Pack" for all your mech styling needs?
Having to pick them one by one can be tedious especially if you like to mix up your camos every now and then.

While I'm at that, is there a list of "canon camos" ? By that I mean, in-universe paintjobs.

Like "Snow Camo: Use the <Insert Camo name here> and <Color 1> <Color 2> <Color 3>"

"Urban Camo: Use Urban Block Camo + Phranken Grey, Skull White, Rust Brown"
(made up those color names, you get what I mean.)

There aren't any color/camo packs outside of the packages, it's all a la carte. However, some colors are grouped like "camo greys" etc.

As for canon things, the closest your'e going to get is the faction colors that come in the packages.

Terciel (or anyonw else),

Are the colors provided via the "faction colors" of the various mech packs cannon though?

Example: the FRR blue, and red and orange shown in the Resistance packs...does that have some lore association? Those folks with an interest in such things that I have seen in matches usually (keeping with the FRR example) have their mechs painted in black and some version of blue-green (ala the FRR shield). Is the blue/red/green pattern of the Resistance mechs a random MWO creation or does it have some BT meaning/origin?

Just wondering.

Someone else, hopefully. I'm not much of a lore guy.

Well you can check Camospecs Online: http://www.camospecs.com/

That has all the canonized paint schemes in BattleTech. Just click the Gallery button on the left and you can select unit paint schemes by faction.

You could also search for a particular mech and hope to find some inspiration that way.

I'm not much of a lore guy either, but I recently picked up the latest edition of the TT boxed set. That includes a faction painting guide, which gives a kind of a TL;DR of what "most" units in each faction tend to use.

It basically confirms that the colours included in the faction packs are indeed typical ones:

Davion: greens, but also red, white, and-blue
Kurita: flat reds, but also white, grey and black
Liao: stereotypically green, but as likely to use red -- also metallics
Marik: purple, but also green and white
Steiner: blue, but also green, tan, and white

Rasalhague is not included though.

I'm sure some loremaster will be around to elaborate.

Basically there is a general set of colors for each faction. However, individual faction units quite often have completely different paint schemes.

The easiest way of thinking of the color sets in MWO is that they are "MWO canon". And that's what really matters when playing MWO.

Come on Koniving, you should expect at least some effort from others. ;)
