I can life with that
Seriously its a bad idea - it wouldn't even hurt me.
Well we can talk about a different skill system. That is not compatible to the old one. (for example a real skill tree that have to be unlocked with XP and need cbills to activate)

Our owned mechs should still be ours, as if we just bought them.

How do you feel about this?
Are there anything you feel should be reset or not?
Very many tears will be dropped for this, but I feel it is just.
Everyone of us with experience can certainly get our skills/money back faster than the new guys anyway.
Beginning new like this may just make you look at the game differently.
Even make you enjoy it more with a new perspective on things.
Earnings might be better after Steam, so it might not be too bad.
No, I think this will be good, getting everyone back at the starting line again.
This seems a good idea as there will be many new players coming.
Really, it's only fair for everyone to start from the beginning when the game is released out of beta stage.
Only the really stubborn will have anything against this.
Look, if you think about it it makes sense as I explained above.
Leave your pride behind and look at it from the new guys view.
Everyone will profit from this, in a gameplay sense.
Deny it if you must.
Who tells you that it's "beta" now and won't be "beta" when steam comes in?
Most software or even products are in a certain state of "beta" for the entirety of their existence.
"Beta" normally means: not yet released, not yet productive, not yet making money, only developers and a small circle of enthusiastic players are testing it (hence "beta test").
MWO is surely no longer beta. It's a working, living business for many years now.
CW may be, but not MWO.
Apart from that, I wouldn't mind a reset you describe.
The mechs are the important thing.
Skills and CBs would be regained very quickly.
For me, mastering a Mech is not more than a few matches of seeing it grow and get better and before I look, it's completed and I have nothing left to grow.
But I don't see any reason for a reset, either.

Will make a whole world of difference!
Will show everyone that you are not full of sh!t and mean what you say.
It only takes that one act of defiance to get the ball rolling to make change. Miss that in World History?
So, are you full of sh!t or do you mean what you say?
Think we all pretty much know the answer already...

And you are proposing to take them away, making my grind useless?
lol.

You paid real money for them, you get to keep.
But any xp or cbills you have to loose when a new player starts the game.
So, every day, you loose all your xp, cbills, and Gxp for that day and any mechs you bought with cbills that day, resetting you to zero for the next day, you know, to make it fair to new players.
So, the OP wants Groundhog Day, MWO style!
This idea breaks the stupidity scale.

As the OP states, you are stubbon for not liking this idea. Leave your pride behind and think of the poor new player. By you having to give up everything, everyday that you did not pay real monies for, this will make for better gameplay.
Deny it if you must, but if you do your stubborn, OP says so!
It's fair!

we got a special snowflake here gents. tell me yellonet did you get a participation trophy for just showing up? do you feel as tho everyone should get a reward just for "winning" a match even if they did nothing to help their team earn that victory?
are you just trying to troll or are you off your meds? cuz im siding with el bandito on this one. your either drunk or trolling.
because you do realize that many of us (myself included) had to PAY real money to even get more mech bays when we started, had to grind with R&R and i would say had it the worst comparatively starting off. in fact i bought the first mech i ever owned with real money why should new players get it any easier then it already is?
new players get the cadet bonus, training grounds bonus, mech bays through CW, and achievement bonuses something many of us NEVER had when we started off and we had to take that grind head on.
i say keep the game at least on a certain level of "hard" because it prevents idiot 8 year olds that scream about your mom from really gaining a foothold, prevents people that aren't willing to learn and get better from becoming cemented and i for one think this is a great thing.
i say keep the snowflakes out by presenting a real challenge so they give up before they succeed.
