I kind of like how every now and again, someone post an idea so unbelievably, ******-rendingly stupid, that it puts the normal suite of bad ideas into perspective.


This is one of those ideas.

Hmmm... actually it'd be a brilliant move. PGI flushes the toilet, majority of vets and the rest of the people who have griped about the game for years leave the game... allow for a completely new community to populate the game once it hits Steam.

I would laugh my balls off if PGI did this, and they could damn well justify it too. Balance. It would be in the name of fairness and balance.

The problem here is the unfairness would perpetuate itself in a couple of months, when new players join then, they will be months behind everyone else.

What really needs to happen is that we need to get rid of double basics. It's pretty broken when you consider how a mastered mech compares to a brand new one. You shouldn't get OP stuff simply because you have played longer. I think that as you are more experienced and get better, you already have the appropriate advantage over a new player in skill. Don't compound that with better equipment. It's just stupid noob-stomping, like PvP-only MMORPGs (I do not consider this an MMORPG - it's a multiplayer FPS).

Yeah, then all the vets follow Alexandr Kerensky out of the galaxy and into Harebrained's Battletech, then after some years we return to take over the game and punish the Steamtards with our knowledge about lore and Founder's mechs.
