At first it was just a mild curiosity...I assumed it was the same drama that happens any time there's a change. But now I'm burning to know because this has to be something absolutely huge and the source of significant strife if it was such a thing as to prohibit it's direct explanation to a party not involved in the event itself.

PGI has nothing to do with NGNG, does not pay NGNG, and NGNG is not affiliated in any way with PGI. Sean Lang and Bombadil both individually do contract work for PGI, such as the official preview videos and such, but just because those two people get paid by PGI doesn't mean that the entirety of NGNG is involved with PGI in any way. It's just two people doing double-duty. Now, you're free to interpret that as you like, but those are the facts.

if they are "independent contractors", why do they put the NGNG logo on things they do for PGI?

If it was just making a bit of money on the side I don't think many people here would give a damn, its the fact they are where most of the crap idea's that have been used come from.

They cherry pick the questions at Town halls and push their own agenda, they pushed for quirks, look at the mess that has made of the game, they push for E-sport, they push for a lot of idiotic crap, which is ruining the game, and that is why the hate, not the cash

Working with PGI - the producers of the game that is the center of their whole endeavour - is hardly somehow lacking in integrity.

Just because they're not carrying the bittervet torch of rage or supporting that sort of thing isn't a slight against them. There's nothing wrong with working to foster a positive community, even if you don't agree. Nobody requires that you like them, after all.

I've finally accepted ngng for what it is... pgi's marketing arm... nothing more, nothing less...

the confusion arises when some people akin them to games journalist and hold them to that standard - easy to understand the confusion as that is what ngng set out to be (I've heard all the podcasts all the way from number 1)...
