Hey guys,

Just curious how many returning MW2 Netmech Enhanced (also referred to as Netmech Battlepack) players we have returning to try out MWO.
Posted Image

Although it's been many years, I still remember the days of Netmech with Golden Cheetas (GC), Shadow Warrior Merc Unit (SWMU), Kkrazy's Ravens (KR), Clan Hyena (CH), Clan Timberwolf (TW), Neo Celestial Dragons (NCD), Birds of Prey (BoP), Panther Strike-force (PS) ... and many others.

I did a search on the forums for names that were familiar, like Skyros, KKrazy, RageDancerWolf (Werewolf of CH), but i'm sure many of you go by different Callsigns now.

RAISE YOUR HANDS! :D

I am Cmdr Allied10 ~TW~, but now I simply go by Allied or Allyde.

Hope to see you all on the battlefield,

-Allied

Netmech Battlepack was my first ever online gaming experience, good memories from that time. I recognize a lot of those unit names, and your callsign sounds familiar as well. I definitely remember KKrazy's Ravens, and KKrazy himself

Thontor~RT~, Star Colonel, Clan Rolling Thunder

Just stumbled across the old geocities website wasteland, 'Reocities'. Very nostalgic.

My old website (broken, but still works): http://www.reocities...438/HighIE.html
Seems like mine got salvaged, but many others didn't. GC, RT, NCD, HH all were lost.

Yeah.. I was looking online for the logo we used for Clan Rolling Thunder... I found out something funny..

Badger (our Khan and creator of Clan Rolling Thunder) must have hijacked it from some medieval role playing group:

Quote

Rolling Thunder is a family of houses/clans within the Society of Creative Anachronism (WWW.SCA.Org) since 18 August 1977.The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe.

Cause that's where I found the logo for my sig lol

I haven't really kept in contact with anyone from those days. CyberCrash is one of the few names I remember, but no I haven't seen him either.

Oh jeeze, so many names I'd almost forgotten. The Battlepack version was my first online game as well. I used to go by the callsign Anvil, I think. It's been so long since I've thought about that. It's a honor and a pleasure to know that we're still out there, waiting for the signal to make that combat drop!

Actually, the MW2 Netmech revival 'mech2.org' has a decent following. If you go into their IRC chat you will see atleast 5 people there. I haven't played with them in a few years, but when I did it was fun. Works fairly well, except for the Jump Jet refill issue... multicores really mess up how long it takes for JJs to refill.

I'm always down for a good time. Let me know if you guys want to drop into a game sometime.

(CF) Circinnus Federation clan here... haven't heard the term netmech since the 90's. I remember using that as well as Kali to find MW2 matches. That was the last really good MW game.

I wouldn't say I'm a returning NetMecher, as I'd put lots of time in 3 & 4 since. I think I got into Netmech towards the end of its time, usually went by the callsign Juggernaut. I think I recognize a couple names mentioned here though... Those were good times.
