Too much change? Battletech is 30 years old. This is the second major change in the game after the Clan Invasion. The game can't stay 3025 forever and remain competitive in the modern marketing environment.

Yes, that's how Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and other great franchises have stayed so popular over the years. By massive universal resets which nuke all popular characters and storylines while replacing them with pointless gimmicks which leave the universe almost unrecognizable to long-time fans.

Definitely *NOT* with slight tweaks to a winning formula, but wholesale destruction of the pre-existing ip.

ComStar had an army for centuries that these intelligence agencies never picked up on, and it was quite a bit larger than the one which the Word of Blake had, so that's nothing new. Of course that's besides the point, since the Inner Sphere's various intelligence agencies were well aware WoB's secret army existed.

ah yes, deus ex machina was so much fun the first time around, let's do it again!
