I hate to say it, but a couple of tank mines (or even IEDS) would still take out a mech easily.

Good idea otherwise though.

I doubt IEDs would do much damage. It's sci-fi ablative armor after all.

Given the fluff surrounding Primitive Armor (especially the Mackie trials), even modern anti-tank kinetic penetrators can't get through it effectively, and Standard Armor is even better, by a vast margin.

That said, mechs are not likely to do very good jobs at urban pacification... assuming you don't plan on levelling the "urb" in question.
