Guys, why do you hate gauss rifle so much increasing cooldown that high? 5.5 sec is unreasonably long time to wait.
I don't really think gauss was imbalanced before the patch. It has loading time, it explodes almost all the time when damaged, it's pretty heavy and its ammo is heavy as well. Oh, and it had comparatively small DPS. But now...
With this nerf you actually killed this weapon. So RIP lovely gauss.

Just tried a dual gauss king crab a few days ago, and started to get good with it (after not using any gauss builds at all for a while). Now that I've gotten better with gauss again, I'll miss it all over again :P

It also has Ballistic Cooldown +10%.

This is so hilarious. :D

PGI's favorite technique = copy&paste
PGI's least favorite technique = proofreading

The two go together very well.

I will pull all the gause rifles from the mechs I own and go back to dual AC 20s. I cannot wait until they make those ten second reload times. I mean really lets make the matches last longer by making the reload times of all weapons impossibly long. We can then go ahead and do road rallies instead of fighting.

We can rename the game to SSSSSSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW mechs...

In case you do not get it the sarcasm is meant to say why the heck did you make this one of the longest reloading weapons. I mean the current damage per second.... 3

If you fire at max rate and if you hit every time within optimal range...which is very rarely the case.

Nevermind that each one is an easily triggered bomb. I think I've had a gauss *not* explode, like, twice.

Clearly OP.

As a Gauss-loving person (I put it everywhere), I do not mind the change to the Gauss weapon with this patch.

However, IT SHOULD NOT be in the game until the Gauss bug has been fixed!

Basically. Take 2 Gauss in left hand, 2 in right hand. Someone destroys one Gauss in each hand. Try to group-fire the rest 2. They will just chain-fire instead... I reported this bug in 2014.

Well, it that case, if one gauss in left hand blows, so does the second. Problem solved. Hotfix that ****, yo.

5.5 seconds is like an eternity mid fight. Can we meet half way and 4.75 seconds?

Seriously, please take a look at the Gauss rifle. Maybe if you want to leave the DPS this abysmally low, maybe look at tweaking the explosion mechanic. How about making it only explode if it is charged? Yes that will be rare, but honestly it doesn't need to explode that often now that its DPS is so bad.

That, or look at dialing back the nerf a little bit. Maybe 4.75 + .75 instead of 5.5 + .75.

It's so slow now it throws off the whole sync of rotating weapons.
Before you could lead the target and shoot the gauss.
Re-aim to shoot lasers at the enemy.
Chare as you re-aim to lead the enemy to shoot the gauss.
Re-aim to fire the lasers.
etc

The recharge being so long now that your lasers come back up while you're leading the enemy the second time around. It makes the dynamic of the gauss so clunky and awkward now.
I mean MORE awkward that it already was having to charge.

So much this ^ But I'll also add if the GR is going to have such a long cool down then the charge should be removed. Extra long cool down or charge up, one or the other! :( my poor shadow Cat prime hurts so bad....

Rather than nerf gauss..

Why not buff ac10 and ac20s?

1) increase projectile speed
2) remove projectile drop
3) reduce heat on ac10 and 20s by 1-2 heat per shot
4) increase ammo per ton -- atlases eat ammo ;)
