If you need some help on how to use these beasts let me know or jump into HK for a bit. We can help you. Not a joke. I was skeptical but I am having some insane amounts of fun with each variant. The nerf did remove some of the shine, but when driven well the BJ(s) perform superbly.

also, while leaving tonnage on the table sounds bad, there are mechs that just better in every way then mechs heavier then them (the blackjack being a good example right now), so basing your drop decks off of max tonnage can be faulty. obviously you want some tonnage, but at a certain point it becomes less maxing tonnage and more fitting the tonnage to what you are good with and what mechs you have.

I agree with you to an extent Stealth, the caveat being BJ is still squishy when compared to a TD. Much like when we used to take too many Dragon 1Ns too much squish can be bad. So as long as your team mates are screening you with their beef the BJ is an amazing DPS mech that has excellent high points but I'd not advocate moving whole sale the majority of the groups drop deck into squishiness. Yes I know the BJ has excellent internal buffs.

Of course as I type this my Drop deck was 2 BJ plus 2 Heavies for most of the past event.

For reference, the BJs have 112 CT combined armor and internals. All of the TDRs except for the Top Dog have 126 CT combined armor and internals. Being able to move 30-40kph faster and having a smaller profile more than makes up for the 14hp difference in terms of survivability in my opinion. Blackjacks are incredibly robust for how small and fast they are.
