Hmm. Doesn't he die of a heart attack?

pure propaganda. It was a Liao plot. They made it look like a heart attack to try and use bacon as a scapegoat, thus kicking off the actual first ever intergalactic war of the Inner Sphere. Little known historical fact about IS history.

Look at the results, then back at to who benefits most.

The instigator is obvious- Liao has always benefited from it's peaceful relations with the FWL.

I have been repeatedly recruited by never-until-now-seen merc units to attack Marik worlds. At least one was -paid- to do so, and it wasn't by a House regular unit.

The Federated Suns is attacking the FWL by proxy to keep us at bay, since they apparently can't do it themselves. After all, if your military can't handle the job, why not pay a few C-bills and exploit the system to destroy the alliance that you can't handle otherwise? Once there's enough provocation, Marik is fighting Liao for "fun" (which in the long run it isn't) and Davion gets to have their scavenging victories stomping on the few undistracted troops that remain.

Most units are now occupied on the Marik front, which outnumbers them. Sounds like the perfect arrangement for Davion and the worst possible one for Liao.

I feel for you wanderer. Some People actually might want to see Liao disappearing from the Map so they can take on Marik without Interruption from Liao - when Liao Units have left this CW Phase.

I would be okey to go back to our Peaceful Relation when we got our Planets back. Also have to say that having Liao as a Buffer against Davion always served us well and I would like us to go back to a Marik/Liao Peace again after all of this. Just not sure what Liao and TCAF are thinking about this right now - in my Opinion it depends on their Behaviour how we need to go on from here.

Take back your planets? It sure looks like you lot have used the situation as an excuse for a land grab to me, but that's okay. I'm more concerned with the Fed-Rats than their purple chicken pets.
Maybe Hanse will give you a treat if you roll over for him some more.

It's important to understand that there are two sides to Liao diplomacy and communication -

1. Bitter and antagonistic

2. Bitter and passive-aggressive

It's a subtle system to understand but Capellans are a subtle people.

More has to be said for who benefits from an end to the or even a significant disruption to the Liao-Marik Non Aggression Pact.

Beyond the greater StelarPolitical implications there are several clear groups who benefit directly from the recent Mercenary instigated conflict.

House Marik and to a lesser degree Laio supply All the Lostech upgrade packages traded on the open market when you ask and or pay your technicians to upgrade your battlemech's skeleton to EndoSteal or its heatsinks to double-strength heatsinks ferro-fiberous armour (though F-C also manafactures a lot of this) It is most likley that a company or combine in Marik space benefits. Bought a ER-PPC almost all are built in Marik Space.
Houses Kurita Davion and Rassalhuge are huge purchasers of Field upgrade packs as they struggle to equalize the technological imbalance.
Meanwhile upgraded and expanded Liao and Marik battlemech factories churn out new mechs to replace the sometimes century old mech's in their house armouries and for the first time in a century even expand their standing armies.

Milita Orginisations in Marik and Liao Directly benefit from the NAP cancellation gaining the cast off now somewhat obsolete but still powerfull hand-me down mechs from the House standing armies.

The single House based and Multi-Stellar Industrial companies and combines benefit as production is increased. All Marik factories now report standard capacities exceeding 87%. I imagine house Liao is trying to match this feat.
Those refit kits were being sold to Kurita, Davion(less so steiner) and Rasalhague at standardized prices. Due to the upswing in demand for upgrade kits within the Manufacturing Realms that buy at a fixed price their rates are being renegotiated upwards.
The left over kits on the open market are sold at unregulated prices and it is now a huge sellers market.

The balance of trade between the Houses is shifting to favor Marik and Liao both D, F-C FRR bills are trending towards inflation after two centuries more or less of stagnation.
The clan front Houses are already beginning to mutter about being held to ransom and newly upgraded and expanded Marik and Liao standing armies are not helping any too reduce tensions.
Due to the Largely nationalized (war materials) economies of the clan front Houses They do not understand and are uninclined to believe our strong free Marik economy is not at out Houses' beck and call to produce arms at a subsadized as they do.There have been rumors that Marik Guard units or Loyalist Mercenaries on retainer may be dispatched to the clan front after clan warfare training in Davion and Draconis advanced Academies to help alleviate this.

Our civilian consumer goods manufacturers are also making steady inroads to out neighbors domestic markets as they can not spare the capital investment or resources from their crash priority defensive construction and expansion programs.
Their citizens are taking Marik Space Bacon out of Marik built fridges and cooking it in new Purple eagle brand star league age ferro-fiberous frying pans and their domestic businesses resent the hell out of it.

As the clan front armies are forced into pressing increasing numbers of their privately owned Jumpships and dropships to counter the clans K-F battery enabled double jump advances and retreats. our hulls are carrying increasing amounts of their cargoes. Their casualties amongst merchant crews caused by the Clans often disregard of those jump-ships neutrality is fueling ill will.
Our recent capture of Stars End (and its vital rare Germanium) and resumption of production large capacity Jump-ships and untrue but persistent leaks rumors of a warship program have their propagandists in a frothing lather.

More news bulletin subscriptions have been sold this month than during the preceding two years.

The Mercenary Bonding and Review Authority's Coffers Are bursting at the seams. There are unsubstantiated reports of Unbonded warehouses staked to the ceiling beams, full of containers of House-Bills.

Comstar has more than doubled priority transmission volumes and sinister tales have arrisen of unscroupulous preceptors blackmailing planetary governments for vast sums with the threat of interdiction.

Many are the foes of Peace Those with the will and resources to hire an Mercenary army to start a war.

The business of war is booming!
