I have seen a great deal of Pilots coming into the Forums with all sorts of neat and strange Signatures in the forms of pictures or callsigns of their Merecnary, Millitia or just family symbol. I was wondering, how is it so many people are making this and with what tool? I am not sure if it requires something I do not have I.E. Photoshop. Please, a little help would be nice.

My first few were just made with GIMP 2.0 and Paint.net, which are free image manipulation programs, and images.google.com. Worked great

I made mine with Paint and nothing else. Of course, it's not that elaborate, but it works for me

I'm trying to get my head around Gimp once again. I want to make a new sig for this site and I know what I want but I'm just not an artist and I have to work hard for every pixel.

Photoshop, the path tool, layers, some effects, a good source picture, and lots of time!

Took about 1 hour to make mine.

Nice sig Tweaks, and yes, just a bit of patience and a vision of what you want your sig to be will yeild you a decent signature.

I use Photosnop C5 Extended, Illustrator CS5, 3D Studio Max 2010, and what ever is needed to accomplish the mundane chores ...

Hey, Kit, we're not all rich out here, or work for a major digital/CAD studio. Thanks for making me envious, though. BTW, you forgot to mention the $6K Wacom tablet.

Heck, you could make a good sig with a webcam, PowerPoint, and the Windows snipping tool. All it takes is a little ingenuity.

I downloaded and installed the Battletech font and then just splashed on some quick layer effects in Photoshop. Took about 5 minutes.

I made mine in GIMP, but it could easily be done in MS Paint. I really have no skills, I just tossed together one that looked at least passible. Nothing fancy with it. Just a few pictures and texts. I'll probably be requesting a new one in the near future.
