Why do people drop XL engines in cents? Insta death sentence...

I used to drive standard engine cents for most of CB, but with the much improved hit registration and the hitbox redesign that neutered the cent's damage reduction, speed to get in and out = life. For tanky standards engine builds, go Hunchback. They've got the better quirks for it now.

This is my tried and true CN9-AH XL225. About they best you can do with this chassis. SRM4s give a tighter spread and better heat efficiency.

Exact same build as me but I shave some leg armor for some more SRM ammo.

I think the community has a far too large AC20 fixation. I have tremendous good results with this one:

Before anyone complains: Yes, it's as combustible as a dry chrismas tree, but it's absolutely fun.

Funny thing about the Centurion chassis, it has good hit boxes, despite the size problem, it is actually viable as either XL or standard as far as engines go.

I spend a lot of time in Centurions, hell my current go to Mech is my CN9-LYW with a big XL Engine, two MPL and the AC/20....

80 AC/10 rounds? Honestly, the only reason I can see for using the vastly inferior 10 is to save the tonnage for more engine than you can get with the 20, but when you use up four tons of ammo when you need 1.5-2, you don't get that benefit.

The Case is a waste. Straight up does you no good. 'Oh, yay, I only lost my side torso! Wait, that had my engine in it... Oh noes, I am dead.'

Maybe shave off a hal tonne of srm ammo an toss another heat sink in?

I personally prefer something more akin to this build. CN9-AH

Actually this is also possible for starters. I used 2 AC2s but this should work as well, no need to get close and you can practice distance shooting while unlocking Basics.

higher alpha, higher dps, better heat management and more range to poke.
