Hi,

Just got into the whole clan thing recently, and I'm looking for a decent brawler chassis and build. I usually stick to faster mechs, but I think right now I want to get some Assault action going. Any tips on a decent, tanky (I don't need very heavily armed) mech?

And in case it helps, these are mechs I currently enjoy: Jenner IIC, Locust, Dragons, Blackjacks. I haven't had the pleasure of owning any assaults so far though.

Thankee.

GAR with SPL's. You will love it. Can have a hard time with medium brawlers because it's still an Assault but can pack a bigger punch than any of those.

Non-Assault Suggestion: HBR. You can do so much different things with the Hellbringer plus it's the best ECM mech in the game IMO. Short Range sustained damage, Med Range, Sniping. Hellbringers are awesome. If you're into clan mechs... every clanner should have them.

Fun build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ab76503acd273cc

But you can also do MPL Boating, Gauss+ ERML's, Streaks. You name it.

If you value your agility and do not need overpowered alphas to pilot succesfully, the SMN is a great chassis.

If you just want high mounted weapons and corner/hillhump, literally ANY other clan heavy.
While rather pretty the Maddog, Ebon jaguar and Timberwolf are somewhat bulky and easy to hit IMO.

Tried and true Timber Wolf, heavily armored, moves fast and packs a punch.

Executioner

I use 1 LPL per side torso and 3 SPL per arm. Has a bit of poke and some high firepower up close and good cooling.

If you want to go all out just throw 12 SPLs in it and run around ripping people apart.

If you want ballistics try the 6SPL+AC20 build, or if you want SRMs you can throw in a couple SRM6s in the arm. You can even make a mock Atlas build with two SRM6s, an UAC20, and 3 SPLs or ERMLs.

Don't forget the shield arm on the right side.

EDIT:
If you want something lighter the Arctic Cheetah is the brawler light for clans and Stormcrow basically does any of the builds the Executioner does, but with worse cooling, much less armor, and higher speed. Hellbringer works well at the Heavy level with 6 MPLs. You can also try a build with an UAC20 and some small pulse lasers. You could also try out some SRMs if you don't mind the spread.
