I first learned about the Fed Suns during the campaigns in MW3: Pirates Moon. It lead me to their background of freedom, and power for the people. They've always sounded patriotic and also reminded me of the old image of America, that's why they seem like a reasonable faction to fight to the death for. Coolest state of the Star League in my opinion. 8)

I wanted to be part of the best and that is what i think House Davion is. Plus i like the designs that the Davions field for Mechs like the Enforcer and Centurion.

Posted this in the mechwarrior meme thread, but it seems that it is even more appropriate here:

As an American and libertarian, I love the Davion ideals of freedom and liberty. Combined with the fact that they have the best military in the Inner Sphere, and are more often than not portrayed as the "good guys," the choice was easy for me. The Federated Suns have hade my allegiance since I was introduced to MW4: Vengeance back when I was around 10-11 (I'm 19 now).

Very successful. Federated Suns has a strong military force and considerable tech. Always liked Davion.

It's where I started and it's the house I had the most fun in.

My actual last name is Sandoval. Ever since I read that Duke Aaron Sandoval was the Minister of the Draconis March in the Federated Suns House Davion book I leafed through back in '88 I was in.

I have always loved House Davion. Victor has all of his father's Hans Davion and mother Melissa Steiners good qualities in being a leader of his nation while his sister is a whack job. The Federated Suns have held their own in combat and have some of the best Mech units in the Inner Sphere.

Of all the realms of the great houses, the Federated Suns seems to be rather just and fair to it's inhabitants. Of course, there are still differences between the "peasants" and the "nobility", but it's more like medival knights in space than any other concepts there. (Yes of course, there are those samurai-guys left and right just across the borders, but with all due respect, they are exotic at best and cruel at worst).
I like the idea of the rebirth of chivalry with a modern taste on it - that simply made me Davion loyalist. FedSuns are less a copy of the "modern" democratic terran nations of the 20th century as a reborn HRE or England from the 13th-15th century, I guess (and with my next favourite reading stuff comming from historic novels from that period of time, it's small wonder I like them).
Especially the period when Katrina tries to cut out the Lyran half of the FedCom resembles pretty much the wars of the roses, doesn't it?

My GM is Davion. My Co, Xo, and the rest of my company is Davion. Naturally, I was gonna head there.

The first thing my GM said, however, was "Ignore what everyone else is, Take your time, read up, and make a decision." I found out about the game in-between two sessions more than a month apart. I had at least three good, solid weeks to read up on the different houses. I didn't like the Lao's (they remind me of someone running around with a tinfoil hat and a pistol, screaming obscenities and shooting people that look funny at them) And the Kurita's where too formal-samurai for me (it might be because I always play a ninja in games where I have the option to.) The Stiener's seem to have no idea what to do with a battlemech once they have bought it (you would think they would spend some of those almighty dollars on some trainers, eh?) and everyone else.... well, Comstar was too JW-like with their Word of Blake.

After reading about everyone else, I came to the Davion book. I read the first few pages and said "Man, I really get these guys. They stand for what I AGREE WITH." And that's how I got here.
Then again, I am also a Warden Wolf. Don't get me wrong, Hanse and Victor are great, but Phelan and Morgan are far more my speed. B)

Someone mentioned this earlier, but I think anyone who has read all (and I do mean ALL) of the Battletech books can't help but come away with a feeling that the Fed Suns have it right. An open, free society, strong and proud military, and a lot less of the backstabbing that the Lyran's have. Plus, Hanse is the man.

Fixed that for you.

I've been with the Federated Suns since the TT days. That made this and easy choice :) As to why I originally went with House Davion way back in the 80's? Well, that house just appealed to me so there you are. No point in changing now.

Because Houses Kurita and Liao are annoying with their oppressive societies and high level social engineering designed to brainwash entire populaces (look up the *real* history of Bushido, it's not all that romantic). Katherine Steiner-Davion needs to be shot in the face and all of the traitorous douchebags who followed her need to be strung up. I have no issues with Marik, I just don't know enough about them.

FRR's story and history is interesting and their merger with the Ghost Bears is unique and appealing, so I could go that direction. But for the time being Davion is the faction that most appeals to me.

I've been interested in Battletech/Mechwarrior for some time, although just recently I've been exploring the lore and history. My friend mentioned House Davion and the Fed Suns, so I gave them a look and haven't turned back. As mentioned before, they seem like an ideal faction to fight for and are arguably the strongest military power in the Inner Sphere. They've been fighting the Capellan Confederation and Draconis Combine on both fronts and have endured since the beginning; from the Clan Invasion to the FedCom Civil War. Time and again they've proven themselves the top dogs of the Inner Sphere.
