He can write his novella, and I'll read the first three lines and then reply with a three word answer or some such. LC is not without flaws. You cannot be blindly biased and a loyal member of your House. Knowing your nation's weaknesses is better than knowing their strengths.

Remember, I'm just an illiterate, bloodthirsty FedRat pawn of the First Prince of Death ;)

Never said it was. I just think that comparing "has bad leadership from Kommandant to Kommandanf-General" to "widespread illiteracy and government apathy to the majority of its people living on 19th-century worlds while eight worlds prosper" ends up with one being better than the other.

And I haven't even touched on the racism or your Prince being a literal rapist.

Pedophile maybe, but legally so. And every problem that's occured, none have been ignored. Vagabond Schools exist because of the realization that illiteracy was a rampant problem.

I think he's talking about the current First Prince. The new head of battletech development reeeeeeeeally doesn't like how deified House Davion got from older writers like Stackpole.

You mean the Vagabond Schools that get suspended for years at a time at least once a decade? By the end of the Jihad the program had been out of commission for over a decade, and it's not the first time that's happened. It also got hung up in the 3020s, 3030s, 3050s, 3060s... it's the first thing to go any time the FS gets in a fight.

And yes, I am referring to Hanse Davion's great-grandson Caleb, who forces himself upon another character.

E: he also thinks she liked it.

I wasn't able to get past the second Dark Ages novel, I don't like the tech, don't like the story, and generally disapprove of it.

On the AoL Battletech servers, I was one known as Greywolf. I served as a Brigadier General for a year. Man, I wish I had my log book still. That was 20 years ago but I still have a strong affinity to the honor and dedication to the people of the Federated Suns. That and I look bad *** with spurs on.

Still laughing at the phrase "Pedophile maybe, but legally so." Only in the Davion thread, folks!

Every last Successor State is a corrupt enterprise fueled by death and greed, but I'm going to enjoy smashing the Federasts the most. You clowns just keep painting bull's-eyes on your faction and wondering why you're getting shot to pieces.

You know, you could have just posted that instead of copy-pasting a whole Sarna page and making people scroll through your post looking for what the Hell was actually relevant about it.

Yep, 100% Katrina's fault that her underage daughter was promised to and repeatedly diddled by a man decades older than her before they were even married. That one's completely on house Steiner.

Hanse and Victor are the best of humanity of the era this game starts in so that's why chose House Davion. But when Clan Ghost Bear comes I will be joining a Sibko fast.

I can't be the only person to have noticed how many people have come through this topic saying that they're only sticking with the FedSuns until they can bail to their favorite clan. What this tells me is that a lot of people don't really give a damn about the FS; they just want to win, and since the Federasts had the power of author fiat on their side at this point in the canon, they're using the faction as a shelter to avoid having to acknowledge that they don't want to play without a deck that's stacked in their favor.

Stay with the FedSuns?

HOWEVER: I think a LOT of people from every house will jump ship when/if Clans become open for anyone to join. I see half an exodus of Lowtaxers to trap the IS from both sides, and attempt to claim a victory for the extra crispy recipe.

House Davion as always stood for something more than themselves, only fighting against for justice. In MechWarrior 4 it was easy for Ian Dresari to seek revenge for the death of this family but he rather went out and liberated his planet. So yes they strive for good things rather than being corrupt or power hungry.

I have been with BattleTech since the box set with plastic mechs. I remember when the Reinvorcements box set came out. Anyways, I have always been attracted to the Davion faction due to its historical conduct. The fact they rallied after the Draco's had them on the ropes in the first succession war, impressed me. I wont let the Draco's ever forget or live down Kentares IV. Back in 1988 or so, I found in a Battletechnologies magazine an offer for 10 bucks to join one of the IS great houses. I mailed off my 10 bucks and got back a buisness card that stated I was a MechWarrior for House Davion. My MechWarrior ID # is 1630. It is signed by Jackson Davion, Field Marshal, Federated Suns State Commishoner.

Man I miss those Battletechnologies magazine. I would subscribe to it again given half a chance. Of course it would have to be with only stuff that was around before FASA lost the franchise.

I completely agree with OP, I chose them because they are the most civilized out of the houses, and the one I'd ideally like to live under. Also most of the mechs I love tend to be designed by the Fed Suns as well.
