I have arrived on an expedition to identify key factors in proper bacon for use both in Chicken Bacon and Swiss burgers and brisket bacon flatbread. Current data indicates thin cut settles better on the bun but new research from the New Avalon Institute of Burger Science calls that into question.

Sometimes a question is so serious it can't be settled by laboratory research alone, you need to go into the field and examine your bacon related questions at the source.

It's less about the thickness, but more about how it's made. Are we talking hickory smoked, breakfast, Canadian (wink to our overlords), or pancetta? Of other importance is how long you cook it. is it crispy or just succulent?

My own empirical data shows a strong correlation between thick-cut bacon and my enjoyment of the bacon.
Said data also supports enjoyment of crispy, well-done bacon over hastily-prepared, floppy bacon.


Also, I believe that a world with more bacon is a world with less jihad.
