i keep getting crashes on windows7 64bit with both DX versions and 64 bit client.
forcing 32bit seems to be a working workaround.

anyone else ?

Is that a new problem since this patch or did it happen before ? - Either way, try running the repair tool/verifying integrity in steam.

Are you running the game in Fullscreen or Window/Borderless Window ? - If one, try the other.

Are your various drivers up-to-date ?

Some more system specs might help others figure out what is wrong. Try contacting support via e-mail. They'll ask you to send them some files and have a look.

Since the patch I have gotten stuck on the 'loading' screen after map vote. I have to ctrl alt del to get out of the game. Three times tonight, never happened before patch.

On Win10 using the steam version, MWO crashes after login. Nvidia drivers are up to date.

error is : application unexpectedly terminated.

Then a crash report never shows up even though one is apparently being prepared.

If I quit a match (after getting killed) my computer locks up. I can't even alt tab...

When the match is finished and I click exit, there is easily a 30 to 45 second delay, which looks like the game is crashing (but it doesn't) before I load back into the mechlab/main game screen.

I had a couple of BSODs today at the start of the map-load.
The first game I played after the patch and then a few hours later.
But these are backyard statistics. I didn't save any info, just rushed back to rejoin (still got the 10 second penalty anyway).

I removed my profile setting in the user/saved games directory (the whole MechwarriorOnline folder) and my game started straight up. Must of been an incompatible setting after the new patch.

now I have to redo my settings tho Posted Image

After a bit more testing I believe it was my attributes file in my profile folder,

it was only my attributes file that was causing the issue in the end.
I recommend backing up your profile and copying your profile files back in 1 by 1 to find out which it is causing the issue. that way you might be able to save most of your settings.

Been happening to me for over a week. Multiple re-installs haven't ficed it, I'll try the profile folder change thing mentioned earlier. Tonight it took over 50 tries to get into the game.

Tried the delete user profile...it works but unstable. Kept on loading forever and got this "error code 74". In the end still have to uninstalled and reinstalled the game. This is painful. MWO you take note of this.

have run repairtool multiple times, no change.
32gb ram 3.2 Ghz core 7 AMD R9 390-X 1000w powersupply, SSD. i have tried changing gfx card to R9 290-X and 7970.
drivers are current. all patches as of today installed for everything. i also tried reinstalling gfx drivers already.
crash happens after intro finishes and before "connecting" to mechbay.
i have tried windowed, i run fullscreen. no change.
this crash is new, it was not there before 19th jan patch. it is absolutely 100% reproducible in 64 bit mode.

EDIT: cleaning out everything the repairtool allows to checkmark for removal wont help either...

if this is only in user profile for some, then i wonder what 32bit to 64bit user profile parser does different. they should be checking strcoy return values vs strlen and buffsizes then, i guess. it is a sensible thing to do when copying strings around.

Deleting the profiles folder didn't work for me. However, forcing it 32bit worked.

In the end deleteing the attributes folder doesnt solve it entirely. while I can play for that one session, on my next login I must delete the attributes again. WTF PGI you have literally one job!

How do you do that for the steam version ?

There is a little trick you can try. Rename your Bin32 folder to Bin64 and vise-versa Bin64 to Bin32. After this steam will launch the 32bit version.
