A lot happened in NBT Season one, but most of it occurred on the NBT forums and I am afraid many loyal and enthusiastic FRR members missed it. So I am going to post a recap, including all movies and posters made during the first season.

These will probably be some TL; DR going on, but some of the movies are pretty entertaining, so if you are interested in those but not reading about anything else I recommend just skimming to them.

THE SET UP:

The ISENGRIM had applied and were awarded the FRR by the NBT Admins. To their immediate north they shared a long border with Clan Wolf, who was ran by -CWI- but.. later on during the season would be reinforced by -MS-.

They also shared a border with Clan Ghost Bear who was being ran by 228. The FRR's IS borders included the Alshain district of the Draconis Combine and the Tamar March of the Federated Commonwealth.

It was clear that Clan Wolf would throw everything they had the FRR/ISEN, but Clan Ghost Bear who could have chosen an invasion route in Kurita space also made it known that they would be coming after the FRR. 228 was determined to create the Ghost Bear Dominion about 20 years early.

FRR High-command realized that while they had a chance against CWI, 228's Comp team was going to be more than they could handle. And so they went shopping for Mercenaries.

They found two outfits willing to do the job. The Eridani Light Horse, ran by Marine Mechs and the Northwind Highlanders, ran by the Antares Scorpions.

And so the board was set. ISEN/FRR, MM/ELH and AS/NWH were ready to stop the clan invasion.

Clan Ghost Bear aka 228 released this message as the season dawned:

Quote

Do not be afraid. Evolution is merely taking place. Just as man replaced ape, so now must the Inner Sphere give way to their evolutionary masters.

As you can see, Kerensky's children are still alive. As we can see, nothing has changed in the Inner Sphere except the urgency of the Clan's agenda.

We are not murderers, we are not terrorists and our attacks upon the Inner Sphere are far from evil. Clan Ghost Bear is simply here to take our place at the top of nature's food chain. I will keep this message brief because I dislike speaking to freebirths. It feels ridiculous, like conversing with a toad or a common worm. Thus, my statement shall be clear and straight forward. You have one hundred and twenty hours, five Terran days, to surrender your worlds to the Clans.

During this time, we will prepare your new society and decide which of you should be integrated into our caste system, and which should be saved for target practice.

THE ISEN/FRR responded with this video:

And the season began.

The Antares Scorpions and ISEN forces battled valiantly against the 228 Ghost Bear invasion forces. Isen even beat them when they bid away too many pilots in their arrogance.

(This movie is only an actual recording of the drop not a cool RP movie!!)

The FRR Allied Forces were able to draw out the battle with Ghost Bear/228 until finally 228 decided they wanted a different faction and left Clan Ghost Bear.

At which point the FRR Allied Forces merely had to deal with Clan Wolf aka CWI.

This is what the northern borders looked like...

The Key to everything was Harvest, in this image it belongs to Clan Wolf and is in the north west most section of FRR Territory.

With Non-Meta mechs and limited technology the FRR did what they could, but it was an uphill battle against Clan Wolf: (early in-game footage of the FRR's failed attempt to stop a CWI raid on Harvest)

Harvest was the FRR's 2nd most economically powerful planet after Rasalhague itself. It was the jewel of the Republic and the first world for which Clan Wolf could begin their invasion. The battle over Harvest was fierce but in the early salvos of the war Clan Wolf was able to defeat a severely under 'meched garrison of the ELH and claim Harvest as their own.

The inner sphere has a tough time fighting clans, especially in low-tonnage drops. Their clan streaks would shred anything the Inner Sphere could bring to bare, and as this was happening right after Arctic cheetah's were released, they became the bane of any Inner Sphere warriors existence. The initial Arctic Cheetahs were insanely op. This was before any nerfing balance passes and in tonnage drops where an Arctic Cheetah weighed 30 tons and a Firestarter weighted 35 tons, the IS constantly were at a disadvantage.

During these hard times the FRR lost their own Clan Nova: (WARNING NSFW EXTREME LANGUAGE!)

The loss of Harvest with a hard blow against the FRR, however the FRR Allied Forces rallied. ELH and NWH had success in Mech Raids against CWI and bolstered by everything the FRR proper could bring to bare, they launched the re-conquest of Harvest.

ISEN, AS and ELH took the very best players from each of their units and formed a 'super-team', that they dropped against Clan Wolf. Clan Wolf, took the very best players from -MS- and created their own 'super-team' to stop the Inner Sphere liberators.

The Reconquest of Harvest Day 1: (in-game footage again!)

The FRR Allied Forces were victorious and carried the day. Harvest was liberated. Not only had they regained an important world for the FRR but they had discovered that Clan Wolf had used most of their resources to build a Clan Mech Factory on Harvest. The FRR Allied Forces were now the only faction in the Inner Sphere who could build Clan Tech. They had a gained a Stormcrow factory.

This Movie was made to celebrate and commemorate the Victory of the FRR Allied Forces on Harvest:

The Victory against Clan Wolf was so total, that internally they crumbled. CWI and -MS- pulled out of the league and Clan Wolf went inactive.

In order to safely deal with the clan threat the FRR had forged treaties with all other IS units. They had made agreements not to attack the FRR. However the Alshain district of the Draconis Combine, led by the Luna Wolves broke this contract.

They attacked the FRR using 228, who were now mercenaries, and their own forces as well. The Alshain offensive was mostly blunted and defeated by the FRR Allied Forces.

However, as it was occurring a 2nd force attacked the FRR. House Marik, led by Seraphim Rising Storm (S RS) invaded the FRR and also paid the mercenary 228 forces to attack us.

Using information we had provided House Marik when we believed they were allies, 228 used their mercenary deep strike ability to shut down many of our supply lines to the northern front.

House Marik then launched a planetary assault against Harvest. They wanted it for their own.

The FRR struck back with a fierce propaganda campaign,

Anonymous Graffiti On Harvest:

Quote

Brightly burned the broken dream,
Where wings of hope ceased unseen,
A pauper's peace, pierced unclean,
by swarthy spears of spies and fiends.

The Dreaded Dog, darkly silenced,
The clanner cause, cleansed with violence,
A measly moment, made for rest,
Recklessly ruined, at friends behest.

A curious question, cues for relief,
How shall heroes, answer this beef?
Rolling rovers, ready to die?
Or rabid raiders, roaring at the sky?

A word of warning, wasted most like,
for purple pigeons, preening false might,
The yew-hearted jarl, is eager to fight,
his high-born-thengs, will win this night

They of course shot back with their own limp-wristed propaganda:

Promising to burn Harvest Down with the Jarl's Own Lost Nova.

The FRR Allied Forces released a Movie showing Marik's unwillingness to aid the FRR while they were attacked by Clan forces, but willingness to attack the Inner Sphere immediately after:

And then the battle was fought. The FRR Allied forces were successful, Marik/Rising Storm was defeated and Harvest was defended.

After months of fighting the FRR was finally safe. The Season wound down and warriors took a well deserved break.

But the tale is not over, another season looms on the horizon. And who knows what new dangers and challenges await the Free Rasalhague Republic.

If you liked it, join a unit that plays in NBT next season. The matches and fighting and diplomacy was all real. It's not just some story.
