can we finally have the best Summoner variant the one with 1 energy on each torso where the ballistic hardpoint should be?
that and some jumpjet quirks would be nice.
thanks PGI.

The (M)althus variant actually only has 1 torso laser...but it does still beat the current left torso selections anyways.

PGI for some odd reason refuses to release that variant, even though it already exists in the game files ready to go. They had two Clan reinforcement waves where they gave good variants to the best Clan Omnis but absolutely nothing of value to the Thor.

I would suspect that they're saving it for a hero mech eventually...

They didn't even give us the variant with an omnipod that would've gotten Gauss specific quirks :(

Give me a reason to dust the Gold Summoner off. Heck just make CW not suck and I will play my Goldy.

I like that it is probably one of the rarest mechs there is and I take pride that I got my Ace of Spades with it first(9 kills that match). I wish they would quirk the ish out of it to be a true jump sniper.

I just don't get it. Russ goes on and on about how much he loves the SMN.... but it's for sure the red headed stepchild of the Clan Omnis.

FTFY, only further proof the true red headed stepchild of the Omnis is the Mist Lynx.

If thats the case i would support more hardpoints but if they put in some 20% cooldowns and some speed buffs it could be a goto mech again.

But...but Russ promised!

The Clam dogs were getting REAL quirks!

I would support a reduction to fall damage. For all that running and jumping, Summoners seem to have weak legs.

That's because the bonus structure increases the fall damage to a point where you can kill yourself faster through jump damage than without those quirks.

Russ did mention that's getting fixed next week.

Maybe. It's funny just how severe a difference it makes. I did no editing in my video, but my Cute Fox died, and went to check out the quirks+loadout/armour of both the Cute Fox and Cheetah, the entire time the Cheetah was still jumping. That's with 2 mechlab loading sequences.

Double the fall damage, but only 25% more IS+A.

Summoner can have a similar thing happen, but not quite double, I don't think.

Bought the a la carte Summoner package just so I could see what it's like to run Clan tech, and to master the SMN-P(I) for running with my team in the group queue. I like it. With 126 total drops it is my third most-dropped-in mech. It's near lore in loadout, with an LRM10 instead of the 15 so I can have an extra ton of LBX-10 ammo, and carries more armor and a ton and 1/2 for the LRM. It's not a world beater but it has a heat capacity of 1.54, speed of 91kph, and the agility of a Wolverine. It's basically a 70-ton medium, Jack of all trades but master of none. It is competent on every map from Terra Therma to Polar Highlands, and at all ranges. A greatly underrated chassis in this age of 70-point alpha strikes.

They at a minimum need to unlock Endo and the JJ's. It is what makes the chassis suck. Every IS mech in the game can upgrade to Endo or remove JJ's as well. Yet the Omnimechs can't? That is just rediculous. Also some Clan mechs can switch out Omnipods that dont have JJ's in them but all the Summoner's do. Also some Clan mechs get Endo and some don't. Just depends if some game designer 20 years ago decided they had it nor not yet we are stuck with their decision in MWO! Again rediculous that PGI has not fixed nor addressed these issues at all.
