Same here, I can not play because I have no way to force it to run 32 bit

I couldn't ever log in to the 64-bit client for whatever reason without getting a "A network error has occurred, please check your internet connection" message. Worked fine in 32-bit. We need to be able to force it again.

Oh no... this is not good. I regularly have to jump back and forth between 32-bit and 64-bit based on how this system is behaving. If I can't do that anymore, that is going to wreak havoc on my ability to stay connected to MWO, as well as keep this system stable. *facedesk* :(

Wow, In the support email I was just told they now are going to force 64 bit on 64 bit systems. I have NEVER got 64 bit to work. What a mess. She wants me to send a screen shot when the game hangs my box trying to run 64 bit

That is poor Public Relations, and is out-of-character for PGI. I hope you can slap them straight, as being forced into a particular 'bit level' based on your computer specs can cause a huge load of problems. A lot of people might stop playing if PGI messes them up like that, and I might end up on that list of victims. :(

Great - Just great - Now my game simply will not load at all - crashes as soon as I press play.

My computer is from Oct 2014. It is still of a current standard.

I see no need to buy a new one just yet.

September 2015-build here... parts are an older vintage, though, like 2012-2013-ish. I hope I'm not completely screwed as well, but haven't managed to finish downloading the patch data yet.

Still going back and forth with them, Still no resolution. Seems someone there thought it was a grand idea to force 64 bit on 64 bit based PC's with no option to run in 32 bit. I am baffled.

I could NEVER get half-decent framerates on the 64-bit client (and I'm running a 64-bit system... ) It's just unplayable ... 10-20 fps at low settings and lowest resolution and the game ran fine on 32-bit (30+ fps). If PGI doesn't fix this then I'm done playing the game because... it's just not manageable for me anymore.

Same here, And I will be requesting refunds for all the money I have spent with them. I just cant believe they would do a patch to take away flexibility in the game and leave us hanging in the wind like this. There is zero sense to this. PR wise this is stupid. Technically someone really wasn't thinking when they made this decision. This is a huge issue. The intermittent dropping into faction play without a HUD I was going to overlook, but this is appalling.

The 64 bit client has never worked properly - but last patch it was at least working - now it doesn't even start.

I am not a happy camper.\

How do I force the 32 bit back into action?

5 hats what I asked their support. They said I no longer can and that 64 bit computers can only run the 64 bit client. I was sending them screen shots and various files as they attempt to troubleshoot why I can't run in 64 bit, and have just looked over that I was satisfied in the past running 32 bit. We need more then just me blowing up the support queue. This is BS

Using 64, my fps goes up and down like a jo-jo. This sucks.

With 32 I have no problem

After patch, systems aren't nominal. Seriously, I need the 32 bit option and I can get back to pew pew.

Temp Workaround. (edited some)
  • Drill to your MWO folder/Bin32, right click on MWOClient.exe and select send to desktop as a shortcut.
  • Then right click on the shortcut, properties, Shortcut tab. Add to the end of the target line a space after the " then -nopatch and save.
Example of how mine is setup

Standalone
  • Target: "F:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MWOClient.exe" -nopatch
  • Start in: "F:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32"
****************

Steam Version
  • Target: "F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MWOClient.exe" -nopatch
  • Start In: "F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\MechWarrior Online\Bin32"
Make sure to fully patch the game first.

PS. Make sure it is MWOCLIENT.exe in 32BIN folder, NOT the MechwarriorOnline.exe (patcher) nor MWOClient.exe in the 64Bin folder.

Okay, I think am finished editing :)
