IS light: Lolcust. It's fast, it's stealthy because nobody thinks it's a threat, and it runs FAST. KULT OF SPEED FOREVER!

Clan light: Kit Fox. It's cute, it's so underrated that nobody shoots it -- which is amusing, considering they can usually pack more damage than an IS 50-55 tonner, and...well, it's cute. FEAR MY BALLISTIC EARS!

Wolfhound with a 250 standard engine. The combination of avoidance and the standard engine zombiness makes this imho a real tank. If I have allies with me and the enemy wants to kill off that pesky light, then they've already lost.
I always seem to lose both side torsos first....

IS: I'm going to cheat and say Cicada. But I really like Wolfhounds too. They are incredibly tanky with STD engines, and I have consistently good luck with them. I generally run them with STD-210 and relatively heavy armament, and run them as "light mediums". Although the route of using a big STD engine and both speed and tankability for protection appeals too.

Clan: Kit Fox. I love these little utility mechs. I've been running them as ECM+AMS missile umbrellas, as ECM+NARC scouts, and as light LRM platforms, and they always perform well for me.

Love me my Pirate's Bane and The Death Knell. My 2 favorite lights that both essentially play the same way, just the Pirate's Bane has ECM. But the TDK has greater range of motion with it's arm mounted weaponry.

The Raven 3L is an all time favorite for me. I had so much fun in it back in the 8 man drop days. Nowadays, it's not so deadly anymore

Currently, for IS, I'm a big fan of the Firestarter EMBER. As for Clan lights, I'd have to go with the Arctic Cheetah, partly because I have not had the opportunity to get the Jenner IICs yet. I have a feeling that I would like the splattard build for them quite a lot.

Venom SDR-9KC, because you can't go wrong with a 8/12/8 mech with three MPL, DHS, and a C3 slave.

Unless you're one of those lyran players who try to force others to use the jumping-into-woods PSR expanded rule, but the world doesn't need more turret-tech.

I'm tempted to say the Tarantula. The original is great for helping green pilots to keep to their feet, but I like the 3A version best. If you're using jump jets, you need everything to keep those to-hit numbers low, even if that means you have no range to play with.

I've mastered every light except the Urbie. I elited them, but not mastered them. Tier 2 is rough on the poor little guys...

That said.. My favorites have been the locusts, Arctic Cheetahs, and Jenner IICs. With honorary mentions to the Cicada and Ice Ferret.

The Locust is just fun: fragile, powerful in the ambush role, fast. The ACH and Jenner IICs combine power and speed, with the ACH being the more durable of the two.

The Raven and Firestarter are also fun, but not my tops.
