I have a 19" (1280 x 1024 max) monitor, that I use for daily work, and a 46" (1920 x 1080p max) monitor, that I use to stream video, web-ex's, etc..., that are simultaneously connected to my PC.

If I make the 46" my "Main Display" I can play MWO at 1920 x 1080p, otherwise I am stuck playing it at 1280 x 1024 on the 46". This is cumbersome and inconvenient.

Is there a way to make MWO run on the 2nd monitor, in it's native resolution of 1920 x 1080p, WITHOUT making that monitor the "Main Display" for my computer?

Thanks for you insights and assistance.

I am pretty sure in your you GPU's control panel you can set this, but I am at work so cannot test.

Try:
Start the Game Windowed in 1920*1080 Resolution, move the Window to your large Monitor and then press ALT+Enter.

What GPU are you using?
Is the desktop display setup as extended or mirrored? The quoted part makes it sound like you are playing in mirrored/duplicate.

If you have your desktop mirrored/duplicated, by default it will set it to the smaller resolution, it would not matter which monitor was primary. Again, this is the default but the next step will show how to get the 1920x1080

You can then go back into Advanced Display settings and select the higher resolution and it will run the TV at the higher resolution but rescale the images for you the smaller monitor. You will have top/bottom black borders as the GPU scales down the desktop at 1920x1080 to fit within the 1024x768 border, making things smaller.

Or set it as an extended display but you will need to make the TV the primary, else after signing into the game you may not be able to move the game to the TV monitor without using a 3rd party program, through my testing. Yes, I dragged out an older, smaller resolution monitor out of the closet Posted Image
