This is me shooting in the dark without BETA access - (so if any of my ideas don't make sense for MWO this would be the reason why!)
Colossal BattleMechs are a latest and experimental category, massing over 100 tons and manned by a crew of three — a pilot, a gunner and an engineer. Only four Ares class 135-ton 'Mechs occupy this category, each with a different set of primary weapons. The variants are Hades, Hera, Zeus, and Poseidon. Poseidon is the newest of the four, and is an improved version the earlier variants. This class introduced in 3130s, in game system MechWarrior: Dark Age.
This class is no longer produced and generally not considered canon.
From what I read we can have up to 3 screens for MWO.
I'm thinking the 1st screen will have the first person view; My gunner and I would be using this screen which would be in the middle. (suggestion - Maybe with/without the internal view of the mech that can be toggled as a option in the UI menu . ie: just a clean view with nothing but the playing field. Trying to be clear here "Like hitting Alt Z in WoW to hide your UI"). Perhaps go futher and just make the individual HUD readouts ie: speed, hp, etc toggleable - that can't be a word. http://en.wiktionary...wiki/toggleable holy **** it is!
2nd screen I'm thinking... the map/radar which will be useful to both of us but primarly more the pilot since my thinking is, I will be the one orientating the legs and movement speed and my brain will be focused just on this and providing the best possible shot for my gunner with current weapon setup. Plus I believe in close up fights my gunner can focus on landing hits more precisely by separating tasks.
3rd im thinking rearview mirror. And what else seems to make sense once I get into BETA.
Pilot = leg orientation and movement
Gunner = torso control and orientation including the arms
This setup is what I planned to implement come August 7th for testing. I really want to see a Ares http://www.sarna.net...res_(BattleMech) in game or really just any Tri or Quadrupedal http://en.wikipedia....ch#Quadrupedal. Maybe introduce concept(prototypes) mechs into the game. Since the Ares was introduced in 3132 its one way to get around the unavaible mechs due to timeline limitations.
