Short answer...not bloody likely.

Slightly longer answer: Not anywhere close to being likely. I suppose, maybe, eventually. But not in the foreseeable future.

Slightly longer than slightly longer answer: This is critically dependent upon Cryengine porting to Linux, upon which SteamOS is based. Crytek has embraced the idea of a CE Linux port, specifically, I think, with SteamOS in mind, however, this will only be for the latest version, whereas Mechwarrior Online uses CE3, which will not be getting ported in the foreseeable future.

TLDR: Star Citizen? Sure, maybe. Mechwarrior Online? Not a chance.

The even more tangential answer: SteamOS performance compared to Windows performance is awful, and if MWO does not perform well on Windows with top-of-the-line hardware, why would you even want to try to run it on SteamOS?

SteamOS is linux based, and Mechwarrior being a license from Microsoft, nil chances it will ever be officially supported on linux.

However, SteamOS does stream windows games over the LAN (when played in Steam), so if you have a windows machine to run it you can stream using SteamOS to your TV or something in your home.
