Long Tom Makes Ghost Drops.

Attacking a planet today. Mid Match we got Long Tom.

After that match, Ghost Drops.

No Fun.

Ahh I was afraid of this. We have yet to get them but we we started getting closesl I kind of had the filling this would happen.

Long Tom is a game winner, from what I've seen. I'm surprised that the best strategy against it is not to play. Rather the best strategy is to switch to scouting mode and even things up a bit.

Yes, the side with Long Toms will stay in Invasion mode doing ghost drops there, and the side without Long Tom will stay in scouting mode doing Ghost Drops there until they can disable the Long Tom.

Then once the Long Tom is disabled, you go back to invasion, and watch as the solo players that have no idea how scouting works give the enemies the Long Tom back.

They are saying there are so few solo players I doubt they are the cause of the problem

I stop short at villainizing any one group at this early stage

Everyone wanted to exclude solo players from CW
And now that they are essentially gone they seems there is still room for complaints

Solo untagged players, sure.

Players in the super carebear casual units that are in T5 quickplay driving the trial mechs and having no idea what the strategy is? There are a LOT of them.

Anyone who is sane is not going to attack a planet that the enemy has Long Tom or looks like could get it.

THose who readyed the Long Tom is on average the better side, or those with more players - they still will hold the long tom ready. Even if that would funnel players into the scouting to drop the intel. It would be a eaven if not higher number of players that will counter the effort.

We were trying to bomb our opponents with their own long tom, It was pretty hilarious but not that effective.

Out of fear for the Long Tom I feel like players dive into scout que to try and get rid of it, thus leaving invasion que empty.

CW is more fun when the other team has the Long Tom, we dived bombed them relentlessly and won easily.

There should be a balance of unit players keeping an eye on Scouting as well as the Invasion screen.

Going back and forth. To ensure the nuclear arms race is held off at bay.

I would consider doing that.

If rewards for 4 vs. 4 would not be that awfull.

Rewards for 4v4 are terrible.

But it is important none the less.

If you ignore scouting, prepare to be long tom'ed to death.

MS runs 3 scout group to ensure the planet we are attacking isn't going to run into that.

Yes our scout groups aren't making money. But we rotate them out and allow us to take turns.

Then again we also have pilots who excel primarily in Lights and Mediums and eating up this mode.

As for me I average roughly 250k per drop. But that is just me.

You can't ghost drop in scout matches.

only 150LP for Scouting is a motivationkiller too
