Ugh! No huge volcano or other terrain feature for both teams to Nascar around, no giant walls around the map, boxing everyone in, no auto-hitting LRMs focus firing and insta-gibbing anyone caught in the open. And this map actually has ambient sounds. How gross. Posted Image

Free

Population wise, it was mainly Euro last I checked (thus time zone conflicts)

I don't see 12 guys on each side playing Poke / Laser alpha warrior....

Clearly not enough e-sports there.

I don't know about you but I saw plenty of LRMs getting solid hits in that video.

That aside though, I agree with everything else you said. How much better would MWO be with maps that were actually several kilometers to a side?

As far as I know you don't have mechlab there. Makes one wonder how the game would play out if they had at least the same level of customization as we do.

MWLL, tiny population of elitist gits. Although every game has people like that, the bitter little groups I attempted to play with were some of the worst.

Been there, tried that, got the T-Shirt, got jaded.

Higher TTK, beautiful sound design, giant map, no ******* pokewarrior online... I think the biggest difference is the ttk. One of those red mechs was being focused by 3 blues for a full minute before he went down. I really think MWO needs to go back to this. Maybe a lower heat cap?

This is probably the biggest thing to increase TTK in MWO. Slash the heat cap by about half to curtail those pathetic, no skill alpha strikes, force people to fire fewer weapons at a time, and you'll go a long way towards making this an actually skill based game.

Supposedly PGI is working on some sort of "reactor power draw" system, which several people have advocated for a couple years now. This may or may not have the same affect as a lowered heat cap, but until we get more info on it, it's all just speculation.

Cool...except OP, you violated the Code of Conduct:

"Players must not engage in the advertising of any third-party content that is not beneficial and not related to MWO or PGI services or any related businesses, organizations, or websites."

There were plenty of LRMs, but it didn't seem like streams of missiles from multiple LRM boats were focus-firing and shredding one mech at a time. If you played on that map in the MWO solo queue, it would be very different. In MW:LL, LRMs seem to be useful, but working in a very different manner than in MWO.

Its a cool video. The action is nice to watch and perspective great nothing to do with advertising. I don't see how it violates any rules.

It does violate the CoC, as Coolant has said.

But not for the reason he has said.

The reason it violates it is because General discussion is for, and I quote,

"For constructive general discussion of MechWarrior® Online™"

It may be constructive, but it does not, discuss Mechwarrior Online. So I'm moving this to off-topic. Sorry.

Ask the spam bots from Mumbai that I had to remove and block it's privileges to post 5 times a day in the New player help sub-forum. They might be able to help you with love problems I heard.

Debatable. MWLL is vastly limited in comparison. It doesn't even have a mechlab and I personally find the combat mechanics to be clunky and annoying. Also don't we already have a thread on MW:LL? Also... who the hell actually plays MW:LL still? Last time I checked I had a hard time finding 5 people. Seriously it is dryer than a desert over there.

I don't play it. I wish I could. But I'm not European (the only folks who play it) and just don't have much time to game, anyways. While it didn't have a mechlab the actual experience of playing was far more in-depth than MWO, be it PUG drop or CW. The ticket-based gameplay, multiple base captures and respawns lent to a fluid experience that challenged not only your reflexes, but your mind as you figured out how to weave around enemy positions to recapture lost points to get the upper hand.
