[Hydrans]

I am only asking this, as I assume that there will be potentially 20-30 thousand people immediately trying to hit the servers that hold the game files.

As a person from Australia, I am hoping that there will be multiple global locations for the files to be retrieved from. Is there any news on the locations, and equally is there any news on the original file size?

BTW so excited, played MW on a 386dx25 in 1989 22 years ago, cannot wait for the new one, bring back memories of being a kid again.

I was going to ask this question earlier infact. I too have concerns regarding Aug 7th MASS download DDoS their servers (if centralized) are going to receive with everyone trying to get the game at the same instant.

If they are smart they would use Bit Torrent and their Webservers as first seeds.

I believe there will be no mass download problems on August 7th as there are only about 16000 founders (currently). Moreover part (if not all) of this number will have the client downloaded by that time as beta access is granted on a continous basis.

Well and i don't think they will send the E-mail links with the downoad link on August 7th, i guess they will send a week earlier or something like that. ;P

Another Aussie here too, it will be interesting to see how they go about it.

Yep! My mind is starting to bend with the realisation it's still just over 3 weeks away. Here's hoping for getting in on the next few rounds of beta. There really is nothing worth playing at the moment from where I'm sitting, MWO is the dawning sun on the horizon after the black of night

Once we get closer to the 7th, I'd imagine PGI will give us some more details about that. Most likely, there will be a link either emailed to us, or as part of our profile (to prevent it from getting clicked by non-Founders at that point).

As to the physical location of the file... no idea, hopefully some sort of CDN, at least for the initial wave.

Damn right mate, damn right. The black of night including uni exams and excessive amounts of working!

Oh well, at least if we get invited to the beta we find out where these sneaky files are!
