Seconded, make the duration quirk only apply to standard lasers (or just mediums), it is a relatively minor nerf, but it will certainly help with the concentration of that alpha.

I would like to see how balance would stand if they gave Clan small and medium lasers their range back.

One step closer to bringing my precious meta whale back.

They just nerfed it.

The reason it has good quirks is because it's weapon mounts are all belly level. It's strong yes, but I don't know if it really needs another nerf. I would like to see how balance would stand if they gave Clan small and medium lasers their range back.

I would rather we have better heat management across the board, than have a range advantage. That and do something with our ballistics. Clan ballistics aren't anywhere near as fun as IS :(

Maybe you should consider your approach to the mech.

The answer you are all looking for is the removal of quirks from ALL mechs.

Large pulse and mediums?

Um... How about engaging outside its operational range?

I'm truly growing weary with this "this hard, make it easier" crowd... Try understanding you enemies weakness and strengths. It quite refreshing!

Millenials

Or just push into it.

I had three guys the other night, 2 with Dakka builds*, that tried to play peek-a-boo with me from behind cover at 400m - which is basically playing to the BKs strength.

If they had just pushed on me, I would have overheat or just stopped being able to fire and they would have destroyed me. Instead I killed all 3 of them.

Learn to twist? It's laser damage, twist and you'll put all that damage across your LT/CT/RT, I'd be more worried about a PPC packing Warhammer since that's PPFLD...

Clan mechs don't have insane torso twist quirks so they can't twist against 1 millisecond duration lasers.

As Gas above me mentioned, .67 seconds is not 1 millisecond... As I also stated PPFLD is way more dangerous than laser DoT....

Shorter laser duration, lower heat plus additional heat reduction and range quirks, and major structure advantage compared to the TBR. Clan players that don't abuse their range advantage against BLs are at a disadvantage unless they're in an assault. BL is probably the best heavy in the game right now.

Good luck trying to twist away 58 damage in 0.77 seconds, especially with HSR in place that pretty much guarantees whatever you're reacting to has already happened.

Black Knight is fine, it's a 75 ton heavy.

PGI needs to reduce or remove the clan nerfs, unlock some equipment, etc

Hint - When your solution to one of the most powerful IS mechs is to buff a tech class that pretty much already had most nerfs removed, and is already known for being insanely powerful, you are in a full speed power creep situation.

What I learned about the Black Knight...

I bought a BLK-6 the basic one, what I learned after looking on Meta Mechs....Most people if running on of Meta Mechs run it with an XL350. Also they say to run only like 6 to 8 armor on the back.

Results? I always aim for ST's now and if catch one from.behind alpha his Back in almost any torso.

They are good but they are not invincible. If you play one you start to learn how to beat them a little more.

Moderators! By the power vested in me by ComStar I summon you to close this thread for its heresay against the Black Knight, which art not over-quirketh and doth not needeth thine mighty nerf bat to swing in thy general direction.

Many other mechs have ****** weapon mounts too but they have not such quirks (hello Orion, Atlas for example).

This. I don't run my Knights the MM way. Not as killcrazy, but they live longer.

- Also Timberwolfs...finding the Meta Laser wolf can hold up to the Black Knight actually. I know call me crazy, but after comparing the two I found they both are good at the Alpha laser game, though the Timberwolf runs hotter it is more mobile and tanky. Plus larger alpha if running simular build to the Meta Knight.
