How about a functionality that allows the player to access the Mechlab*, while queueing for a CW match. When the game is starting the player will have a 5 second countdown to save changes (if applicable).
*: Basically any other function would be helpful, such as editing the pilot profile, browsing the store, skill management, inventory management, etc.
