BAP has never allowed you to see behind you

It also no longer allows you to remove any one enemy mech. ;)

You might be thinking of ally-supported spotting, seismic sensor (which you need to add to your mech) or 360 target retention (also ungodly expensive module and must be added to your mech).

BAP has never granted the ability to see or target behind you in MWO.

(Battle Tech's another story.)

Oh...if you've been gone awhile and are thinking of seismic: It only works when you are standing still now. Major change, but it's still very useful.

And while standing still, it not only detects movement but will also detect weapons fire. So if an opponent is sitting pretty around that corner, if it fires a weapon it will be detected by the seismic module if in range.

From Feb 2016 patch notes
Fixed an issue where Seismic Sensor would only pick up weapons fire from an enemy 'Mech if they were not in line of sight.

Off topic here but I saw a light Mech the other day with a symbol above his head like he was transmitting something. What was that?

Looked like he was getting good cell reception? He was NARCed.

Having been tagged by N.A.R.C. = run and hide like hell is coming after you, doubly so in T5/4 game play, as that is where LRM's are most powerful.

Wow, someone Narced a light, lol. Well, if I ever can do it without dying, i will know what to look for!

And BTWay, IMO this is an example of simply not giving out information. Why does it not say this on the description of the Narc?

Oh, it's in the manual, right after the order of ammo consumption and a clear explanation of how critical hits work. :(

Documentation has never been their strong suit (more like a void suit, sadly). It's always been frustrating and now the best volunteer manual is out of date enough to not even be worth linking any more.

I think PGI prefers trial by fire method I think...

WiFi signal = N.A.R.C.
Low WiFi Signal = mech being affected by hostile E.C.M.
Eye = Friendly E.C.M.
Cross hair = target under effect from T.A.G.

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head, also watch for mechs that are giving off steam (if you have your video settings high enough), it means that mech is running very hot and should be an easy target if you are running cool.

also if smoke rather than steam is flying from a component it means that is a badly damaged/destroyed component
