Can we please quadruple or even quintuple the team damage penalty please? Currently it really is not a deterrent. Yes this is stemming from a match that I just had. Sitting on the Little alocve on Frozen City in C3 LRM'ing away in my oxide when a EBJ comes up behind me and starts shooting through me to hit the target that I am LRMING. Blows off my arm and the continues to fire and kils me via rear ST. All the while screaming at me to move, when I was there for a good 30 seconds before he even thought about moving.

Sorry, but its players like this that just totally ruin this game. Currently the TK and Team damage penalty is no where near enough. Especailly when 1 alpha can destroy most mediums and all lights if from behind.

You know, ive had plenty of times when someone will simply ran into my laser vomit and taken 10-20 dmg outright, why should i be punished for their mistake of running straight into clearly visible beams...

Im fine with penatlies for doing kmdd on friendles but thats it pretty much.

Both Team Kill and Team damage please.

Nothing is more frustrating than to be *****/teamkilled by one of your pugs in your ***, be it intentionally or not.

But then you have scrubs even in Tier 1 who just flat out don't care and do it anyways. I see far more intentional damage then I do UN-intentional.

I wonder if they can track how much team damage a person does and then once it reaches a certain point over a period of time take action. This game was conpletely ruined for me because of one idiot who will probably not have anything done to him. And I have no recourse but to sit and take it. And folks wonder why folks get salty. .

Increasing the penalty without separating players by skill level is counterintuitive.

It's not fair to the new players that don't know how to aim yet, especially when they're thrown into matches with experienced players.

Personally, I think it could use a 10X boost....but, if you take away all their cbills, they won't be able to afford their own mechs and will be bringing trials forever.

Yeah, I think the penalty is not severe enough.

Maybe have BitchinBetty nag the pilot after they've reached an excessive amount of team damage saying "Warning: Friendly fire will not be tolerated" then if they continue to hit friendlies, it simply destroys their mech just as if they had ran out of bounds "Warning: Cowardice will not be tolerated...".

What'd be awesome is if someone exceeds a threshold a giant disco ball appears over their robit, confetti starts streaming and while colored lights flash all over it with music playing--sort of a, "Look at me! I've been bad and am hurting teammates!"

And then any and every penalty you might receive for hurting them is commuted. The game is telling everyone to, "Go ahead, kill him. He deserves it!"

:)

Good idea.

An audio que which would let you know that you are shooting the wrong people.Sometimes people(especially new people) TK their teammates just because they don't notice that they are hitting a friendly mech.

Sure, I'd agree to the OP's proposal, but if and only if people who carelessly go into my line of fire are punished 1000X more severely. <shrugs>

Not a bad idea, but disco is prohibited by the "cruel and unusual" phrase of the 8th amendment in the BoR.

3k c-bills per point of team damage. Premium bonus also applies.

The opposite situation from OP's is far more frequent, where somebody is already shooting at an enemy and then some other guy jumps/walks in front of them and then they have to pay a team damage penalty for another player's greed.

I'm tired of paying penalties for idiots jumping in front of me. I think the current values are fine.

Woah woah woah. In tier 1? Are you sure you didn't just get what you deserved? How does one stay in Tier 1 while lurming in one of the best strikers in the game?

Yup, let's make the penalty 50x higher. We want to make sure no one will fire as long as a teammate is in view or may possibly move towards your lane of fire. And if you need help with a light that's hugging you...too bad...yer gonna die because no one should take the chance of the light moving and you getting hit instead. Hey, how about 75x higher because there is no such thing as accidents in this game. Oh, wait, it's probably just the terribads that do it and they shouldn't be here anyway.

I agree the individual the OP described was as an idiot and should get penalized, but the OP also has the opportunity to report the fool in game for deliberate FF/TK if he feels more serious action should be taken. And as for wanting to permanent ban folks for accidental TK, be careful what you ask for, as you may get it then have your own crappy game day and receive bannishment from society yourself!

I just love how the answer to many of the player's game problems here always require extreme measures. I should probably take a break from reading all these whiney posts.

He might have been mad that you were LRMing in an Oxide. That is like LRMing in a Black Knight.

This could be good for new people... occasionally there are a friendly mechs directly between you and the red Doritos... had a friend, in his second game, get team killed as they shot at the red square... and the blue player, now missing most of their rear armor, who was in between came and melted him.

Ah the early matches where you didn't notice the blue dorito because of the closely aligned red dorito. The voice for your friend would probably have been saying "Run! I'll tell you why later!"

I can't count how many times I've taken a position only to have someone either stand behind me and fill my rear torso with their weapon fire, or in front of me blocking my shot... Knowing the PUG life I save my armor for the enemy and find another position.

Was probably time I moved anyways.
