As title says we are on the eve of a new mech, hopefully, probably....its PGI who honestly knows.....

But really, we should be expecting a new mech announcement soon most likely this week. Though Russ has been very quite lately.....Based on previous statements it is a very very good chance at being a Clan Omni, and a medium most likely at that. The only two options that make sense that can count as both Clan Omni, and a medium are...

Honestly I just want to keep them pumping a mech out a month, at least it pays for other stuff, no new mechs = no new money = no new content = game goes no where....Even if the game is not moving along as fast as some would like, lately they are at least moving forward even if slowly. Idle months such IMO (for my own personal feelings, the more idle months we have the longer we will be stuck in this getting stale era) but to keep interest there needs to be progress is all from my angle.

Anyway discuss the next mech!

It better not be an IS mech.

Russ said in the townhall when he dropped the Viper, that he had an IS mech they needed to get out the door, and it would be a double month in April while still planning for 4 Clan Omni mechs in a row. He didn't change what he said we are still on the Clan stretch for another 2 mechs. These being as he said another Medium and Heavy both Omni Mechs.

And before that, he said we were going to have 4 Clan mechs in a row. Point is, things change.

Don't get me wrong, I know the Kingfisher isn't being announced next, but all the "reasons" you guys are coming up with are bogus and don't actually prove anything.

He also said we would get the Night Gyr a month after the Viper.

Go check the release dates on those two mechs and let me know how many months are between them.

Huntsman, 50t mech with 24t of pod space even when including lock equipment like JJ's and comes stock with max armor, and has high mounts in the STs.
Its also a total swiss army knife.

Black Lanner, 55t mech with 11.5t of pod space, comes with ECM and MASC, and all it can do effectively is laser vomit and that's only thanks to a very specific variant because of one of the arms................................Posted Image

Much rather have the Pouncer or Coyotl over the BLanner.

In timeline mediums, in no paticular order:

Coyotl:
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Coyotl
Posted Image

Pros:

- High mounts every where
- Reasonable speed (280 cXL)
- Pod mounted JJ's
- 15t of pod space

Cons:

- only two variants ever produced
- Mothballed
- 40t
- Hard point starved

Pouncer:
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Pouncer
Posted Image

Pros:

- Adder assets used
- large pod space
- JJ
- lots of Energy hard points

Cons:

- Slow for a 40t
- locked JJ's
- larger Adder

Phantom:
http://www.sarna.net...28BattleMech%29
Posted Image

Pros:

- Fast, like WTF fast (360cXL)
- ECM

Cons:

- WTF engine size, 360 cxl
- 40t
- next to no pod space

Huntsman:
http://www.sarna.net...28Nobori-nin%29
Posted Image

Pros:

- very flexable
- lots of pod space
- High mount ST Hard points -- thanks Coralld for this one.

Cons:

- Clan heavy mech speed.

Black Lanner:
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Black_Lanner
Posted Image

Pros:

- ECM
- Fast
- 55t mech

Cons:

- Over engined 385cXL
- under armoured stock, fully armoured has 11.5t of pod space
- too reliant on one arm variant for any kind of viability
- completely attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis if game shifts away from lasers.

Hopefully it's the Nobo/Huntsman.

Talking about things changing is really just grasping at straws.

Well also consider this, Huntsman would fit more right now, I mean to release the Blacklanner right after the Night Gyr. It is 2 very unique Jade Falcon mechs....Huntsman could be used well since it is Nova Cat design right? Along with either a hero for them or a Smoke Jaguar hero mech, giving us 4 heros for all 4 Clans in game currently. Or completely throw a curve ball at us and have a Clan Nova Cat hero though maybe if they do give us the Nova Cat soonish maybe save that one for that mech same for Mad Cat Mk II with a Clan Diamond Shark hero ect ect.

And?

Heck, you're a "Kurita" Unit working for the FRR. What do you care?

Doesn't change the fact that the Clan Invasion was the worst thing to ever happen to Btech.

Oh I'm not here to debate that, I'm indifferent.

I just want more variety in Clan mechs, which there already is a lot of variety on the IS side right now.
