Looks nice... But who came up with the name? ButterBee? Really....

It's a canon custom 'mech name: The personal ride of MechWarrior Jenny Templeton, this variant of the Catapult replaces the standard arm-mounted LRM-15s with a quartet of SRM-6 missile launchers, two in each arm. The name is a reference to a kind of python, I think.

I am also hopeful that this means the Awesome gets its true right arm back as well. Posted Image

I was not expecting such a drastic rescale, but the new model -- maybe just the texture -- looks up to snuff with the more recent mechs. Time to dust off my Cats!

Rescale? Nice. That makes me wonder how other 65t or lower designs will actually scale down.

My only sad is noticing it didn't get any energy quirks like the -C2/-C4, because ASRM6x4 + 4 MPL actually sounds like a nice stock-plus option here. It's a rare bird, being a complete 3025-tech model.

The mech looks better. However, until either PGI starts actually doing something positive with this game, or until another company takes over I refuse to spend my hard earned cash on your substandard effort at a game any longer.

I have taken my stance with PGI and as hard as it is to pass up the new shiny mech pack of the month, I will not cave in. I am done PGI, no more money from me.

This does not apply to the art or modeling guys. You do awesome work on the mechs!

1) Supported the tournament? Check!
2) Bought several Hero Mechs? Check!
3) Bought MC on several occasions? Check!
4) Bought every single clan mech pack until the Kodiak? Check!
5) Refuses to spend more money for PGI? Check!

Found that old picture on the forums, from the days when dual Gauss catapult was a thing. Catapult is supposed to be the most drastic change, so don't expect other 60-65t mechs to be too small

New Cat's ears ends almost where PPC barrels were on the old model.

I will be pleased to wipe the dust off my Founder's Catapult and put it back in circulation.

Edit: Anyone else notice the Butterbee art has 35 tubes per arm?

Hence the reason I purchased a Jester during the Hero sale! Posted Image

It's practically tiny now!

Yup I bought the jester at 50% off and was waiting for the rescale to buy others and level them... Looks like I'll have a pair of heroes...

Wondering about 4 ASRM6 + 4 MPL....

The animated image showing the rescale?

Should be made available to ALL mechs. No exception.

PGI, you guys are crazy. The top of the arms (boxes) is only as tall as the Blackjack. @65 tons? wow

I dont own any Catapult but OOOOaah! That looks impressive! Both the Butterbee and the scale difference. Kudos PGI!

As far as I know the Cat were too large, now it seems to be in the right spot. Lets see how the Cats will play once the update are upon us. Crossing fingers for the other rescaled mechs Posted Image

Finally!! The old logic has been abandoned!!

If you newcommers don't remember, the Catapult was originally scaled under the premise that the arms were mostly hollow boxes, so they made the legs and torso scale to weigh about 60 tons and slapped big arms on....

... completely forgetting that a huge proportion of the catapult's weight was ACTUALLY from the massive LRM launcher in the arms!! So, they accidentally made the torso and legs much bigger than they should have been.
Good to see they fixed that.... after 4 years. :-p

Heheheh.. I am super happy about this!
