In case you wanted to focus on just one type of hardpoint, this one is pretty flexible!

If my maths don't fail me, you can have:

7 Ballistics or
6 Missile or
9 Energy...

Drawback is that its kinda slow so you will prolly have to load it with weaps so that it tanks like a 60 tonner...

you can only get the extra Missile hardpoints if you buy the Hero, which kind of limits the potential of a missile brawler.

it remains to be seen if they will allow purchase of Hero omnipods by CBills

also, it was as if we heard millions of Viper preorder players' screams and were suddenly silenced

Lol wut? This mech is going to be like the Kodiak... ALL CT.

You can easily differentiate the ST's and it will be tiny.

The Kodiak may just seem to be all CT because all a Kodiak user ever does is stare people down with autocannons. =) Depending on where the torso hitboxes are, this 'mech, with its large, bulky arms, could be an excellent brawling chassis.

I think the armor values are incorrect. While 169 points would match TT values, with double armor in MWO this should have more like 342 points, shouldn't it? Otherwise it'd only have 4.5 tons of FF...

Those are the build values, not the maximum.

Build values for 'mech variants (other than the champion/trial 'mechs) are always canon values - it's part of what makes Clantech seem more expensive.

Is my maths off? on the store page it looks like:
  • 5 Ballistics
  • 8 Missile (HMN-P Arms with HMN-PA 'PAKHET' side torso's)
  • 9 Energy

Now? NOW do you all see why I was frothing for the Huntsman? It is potential incarnate! A true sidegrade to the Stormcrow. Also, a flagship mech of one of the best Clans. Posted Image

Also, $70 poorer, or richer? Donno. Don't care. Pew pew!

Edit:

Suck my 8xA-SRM4, ya Griffins!

As I said in Bishop's thread... excited is an understatement. And that they gave the P and that particular hero configuration? It secures itself as a better brawler, theoretically, than the other Clan mediums. Those high shoulder mounts will also be so much fun for laservomit, too. :3

4x High shoulder ERMLs for poking.
5x SRMs for brawling.

Only problem would be heat, speed, tonnage and ammo.

JJs would be fixed too.

Such a sexy looking machine. Fairly un-extraordinary hardpoints though. Is this the first MWO mech with digitigrade legs? Looks forward to the Nova Cat and Thanatos.

Great job on this mech's design! I don't normally associate with clan lowlives but I'll have to make an exception. Posted Image

October is so far away. hnnngg

It is extraordinary in its flexibility. Also, it's an omnimech, so mix and match. 4 high mounted torso lasers? You got it! 8 SRM4s? Sure! 4 UAC2? Why the hell not? Gauss and a couple lasers? EZPZ.

6 missile? Dude, I'm counting 8 -

P variant left arm omnipod = 2
P variant right arm omnipod = 2
PA variant left torso omnipod = 2
PA variant right torso omnipod = 2

What I'm more interested in is this -

Prime left arm omnipod = 2E 1M
PA left torso omnipod = 2M
PA right torso omnipod = 2M
B right arm omnipod = 3E
to run something along the lines of 4 cSRM6, 3 cERSLAS, 2 cERMLAS = 48 + 15 + 14 dmg = 77 dmg alpha with good heat management potential given the separate weapon grouping and such.

This thing is going to be a beast.

I don't know what you mean...

On a side note, PGI did mention via twitter that they have increased their capacity for map development (I think, doubled?), so I believe we can expect to see more on this front Posted Image

Is the 169 points of armor correct or did someone forget to DOUBLE for MWO when copying the armor figures from tabletop ?

They forgot to double it. The Huntsman comes with maxed out armor. And I mean maxed out. :3 It should be trivially easy to get 24.5 tons of free space on it. October cannot come soon enough! That said, I was surprised they didn't make any Jack-o-lantern related jokes or allusions in the hero/special mech. Used to be such a pumpkin-torso mech.
