Well, that shows one more time, what this team is all about.... In the middle of a supposedly "serious" organised world tournament, they pull out a patch, rescaling most of the mechs, redoing the quirks, and dat mini-map! All i have to respond to that is...

p4r4g0n, all grid squares have been exactly 500m x 500m for a couple of years ... maybe since Tourmaline Desert was first released?

I remember there was some concerns about this back when the bigger maps came into play, might have missed the change when I took a break from the game.

let me count the ways that this "new " minimap sucks.. oh there's not enough space to type it out.Who is the genius thought this was a good idea ? there is a thing called KISS..keep it simple stupid. too much info will hinder more than help. If it wasn't broke..& ppls used it without problems..why change it.?

Having returned after a lenghty break to see the rescaling and the new PHX, and I get ..the minimap! How PGI thought this was a good idea is beyond me and, I am glad to see, the majority of the players (which quite obviously does not include anyone in the PGI-staff).

Kudos to PGI for realizing their error and taking steps to fix it, but fixing this is not something they should have to spend their resources on! Get your **** together, PGI.

I have played some games. It has not been enjoyable - no sensible comms, no scouting, blindly milling about, deathballing and shooting whatever pops out in front of you.

They changed it because these changes are necessary for it to work with the new command wheel. (press and hold "E" during a match)

That's what the PGI announcement said, anyway. They do need to revise it back to being more like it was. I suppose I could GET used to the new one, but I don't WANT to get used to the new one.

WIth the whole-map scale on the minimap, I can't quickly see my lancemate's positions and if we're backing one another up. The North orientation of the map makes me have to double-check the compass to tell where my team is in relation to me. Plus, the icons are too small to read easily when they're all close together.

Playtest it FIRST before releasing it, PGI. PLEASE?

BTW - I was thinking about spending money on the PXH package. Now, I think I'll just spend it on an upgraded modem.

Hotfix is now TBD. Looks like I'm playing other games for a TBD amount of time.

im not gonna parrot what has already been said... ya, i hate it too.

My gripe is why they would do this to us on an event weekend. I cant finish the event due to this "oversight" the Devs have made. ( and by oversight I mean untested feature)

Hope they plan to do something about that as well. Though i SERIOUSLY doubt it..


and i totally feel like this sometime... like now...

I think they should have zoom freature whole map, 2000m, 1600m old mini-map scale, and 1000m. Makes everyone happy.

Finally someone with an actual suggestion instead of mindless whining!

It has always annoyed me that the mini-map is zoomed in so much.

Anyway, someone mentioned putting it on a monitor in the cockpit, which would be awesome, but it should be the static battle map allowing you to see the entire field so you can still have the detailed view of your surroundings in the mini-map.

I really liked the New Mini Map, and love the patched one. To each their own though it seems.....
