I am looking for a good all around mech that can use ballistic, missile, and energy. Also i would like to have the capability to go around 90+

Ballistic, missile, and energy at the same time, or each in individual variants?

IS Hunchback has good variants focusing on laser-boating, LRM's, SRM's, ballistics.

Shadow Hawks give lots of options for combining different weapon types. They're not meta but not bad either. For example the SHD-2D has 1B, 3E, 3M hardpoints, and it can halfway run almost anything you want. The Kuritan 2K model is a downright good mech for all-laser or laser+SRM builds.

The Shadowhawk is a nice versatile mech, and if you can use its shield arm properly the Centurion can take a pretty impressive beating if you want a good zombie mech. It's been a while since I've piloted one but I agree that the Hunchback is another mech to look at that can supply you with a solid base for a versatile medium mech.

The Wolverine also uses all three weapon types, but I'm not familiar with them.

Is there a preferred tonage? I'm gonna toss the crab and griffin into the mix even though the crab is all energy and the griffin is just energy and missiles. They are both solid mechs that can zombie or dead side if need be and you can slap an xl in them if you want to go fast and arn't scared

Hunchbacks are pretty good. They are outclassed by the IIc's, but they can work if you know how to protect the hunch. Griffins are beastly, and those 4 SRM 6's plus Artemis pack a punch. Centurions are pretty good, with the AC 20 4 SRM 4 plus Artemis variant being very good at blowing holes in things very quickly. Overall though, IS mediums are in a bit of a sad state, IMO. They are completely outclassed by the clan mediums.

Peace, and have fun

Oops. That's only in the thread title, so I missed it. Not cheek, just reading comprehension failure. On topic then, HBK and SHD are about the only mechs that can capably do all three (HBK can't do a true missile build, but definitely in combo).

GRF does energy (hero) and missiles both exceptionally well, but no ballistics.

As mostly a medium jock (IS only). My fave mech is the shadowhawk.
Nowhere meta but a nice mix of anything you want.

Also can't go wrong with a griffin, wolverine, enforcer or hunchback.
Hunchie and SH have the most variety but all can be used to great success.

Ps. Don't have a crab yet, but will probably be my next mech.

One chassis isnt good at all of that unless you want to try a Cent or Hunchy.

If you're looking for one singular specific mech to fill your requirements, I'd suggest a Shadowhawk.

However, if you're looking for a mech line that will do what you seek, then you have a few more options. Centurion, Hunchback, and Shadowhawk, are the three that I've used over the years, and enjoy. These three mech lines offer all you're asking for, to varying degrees.

While they may not be the most meta mechs, they are reliable, and fairly idiot proof (which is good for me). A mech is only as good as its pilot, and if you're like me, and you enjoy simplicity while being combat effective, you might give them a look.

I personally prefer the Shadowhawk as IS Medium. It can run several good builds on each variant and can use all weapon types, often two types in Combo. Also there are many builds on it that simply are fun! Also I had mostly good experiences with the Griffin, even if quite Missile dependant.

Nova, cause Nova!

12xERML? can do! (beam heat perks ^.^)
2xPPC 4xMG? can do! (mg perks ^.^)
2x15LRM? can do! (LRM speed and spread perks ^.^)
jumpjets? check!
UAC5 variant is fun but needs a lot of ammo, lopsided UAC10/20 can also be fun with ERSL's as backup

nova is the all purpose, does everything, load out dress up doll of the medium mechs
at leas one of its omni pods has a perk for any ocasion

Hunchies are most versatile Medium in terms of variety of loadouts.

Shadowhawks are good too, but suffer from a very restrictive cockpit view.

Hunchbacks and Griffins are pretty solid. I love running the HBK-4SP with 5 medium lasers and 2 SRM6's, and the biggest standard engine it can fit. Tops out at over 90 kph with speed tweak, and is very durable.

I agree with everyone so far but as far as variety goes between variants I would suggest the hunchy.
