I have the Loyalty Atlas (I run 2 LL, AC10, 3 SRM4s and ams with a 330 Standard) and am going to get two more with the upcoming sale.

I am definitely getting the DDC and was wondering which to get for my third?

The AS-7 seems pretty popular, I haven't played one though

Loyalty atlas, AS7-S? Don't worry about the build, just pulled it off somewhere.

I suggest taking the DDC for the next,(you already did) as those 2 are the best variants in the Atlas chassis(-es?).

For the 3rd, some people (me too) recommend the D, some other says the RS for laser in the arms, some says the K for the AMS.

I have the D because of founder, not so bad with 2 Ballistic, I for some reason took the RS as well... meh.

Unless you really want the AMS from the K, or have some "unique" build in mind with the RS.

(Just realize this as well, RS might be able to "simulate" the BH with the laser in the arms thing, not much of a comparison between the two, but still)

Actually, having all the Atlai at one point, the weakest was actually the Boar's Head.

Anyways, AS7 S is a monster and has lasers in the guts so can fight when zombied. DDC is great simply for the ECM. The D is my personal fav and is a good mix of everything, however the RS is severely underrated.

I remember starting this new account and the only Atlas available was the Champion RS. So I gave it a whirl, used my impressive Atlai experience and scored Ace of Spades on the basic RS on Polar Highlands (which is never an assault friendly map). Needless to say I was impressed.

I'd go for the AS7-D, the 2 ballistic hardpoints make it interesting with 2 LB10Xs and SRMs. As an alternative, 4ML, AC20, 2 ASRM6 would be a solid brawler, although not a match for the AS7-S.

RS if you want to use 4 large lasers, K if you don't really want a third atlas but want a discount XL300 (while it's on sale).

Id say go with the DDC first. Do 3 asrm6, 1 ac20, and 2 med laser. Put ammo how you want. the b33f does a good job showing the build. it is called spooky atlas

D-DC, S, and RS. The quirks and hardpoints on those are superior for what the Atlas does well ("Gauss Sniper" is not among them.)

Also - and this is very important:

PS: Uhm... Try This Build. Only use the Medium Lasers to harass Lights and finish people off. It will be glorious.

That might be the only reason to run a K at all...I'm assuming you use it for the energy range quirk?

Friends don't let friends waste Atlases on a sniper role - the K has energy range and Gauss Rifle quirks, but it's still an Atlas. Low hardpoints and a huge profile make trying to be an Atlas "sniper" a losing proposition. It's simply an objectively bad build.

There's really not much use for the K, I'm afraid. PGI should have given the ECM to the K and not the D-DC back then as the K2 has ECM if I remember correctly. Dual AMS is not worth it on the K and the D-DC would have been fine without it.

Eh, the D-DC turns into an inefficient cross between the D and the S if you take out its ECM - but there's no reason both variants couldn't support it, particularly now that ECM has been nerfed and has a lot of counters.

This is pretty solid. D variant is cool ! DDC is low on tonnage if you want a dual LB10X and triple missiles with artemis.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9df0d4815d87b01

This one is cool too, a standard build for an Atlas. I run mine with a Gauss in place of AC/20 in order to have a bit of variation with my different Atlases. The advantage is that you can build long range on the RS too, but Atlas are very bad at long range, other assaults do this better.

I will recommande the D over the RS. Both are solid. I don't recommand the K. Dual AMS are useless.

Atlas K was the first Assault mech I ever bought. It was also one of the first mechs I bought period.

It holds close a place in my heart for that reason alone.

And that remains the sole reason it still gets to occupy a mech bay, otherwise I would have sold that POS a long long time ago.

Skilling up that last atlas... Has gotta be a painful chore right now... The payoff is worth it... But man...

Anyway

Good luck buddy! Happy hunting! Just remember, everything will pay off in the end... (If it becomes a teeth grinding stressfest... Just remember, you dont have to "master" that 3rd one!)
