I Know these things are not canon, but I think the game is far enough away that that's not even really an argument now.
1. Up-armor mech upgrade. Similar to the way Endosteel or ferrofiber is applied, allow mechs to have an upgrade which consumes slots and/or tonnage to increase the maximum armor capacity of the mech. This will allow players, especially team players to really have mechs take on more of the meta rolls, like making asssaults true tanks instead of sort of giant targets.
2. More Weapon Modules. I'd love to see a lot of the quirk stats also available as modules. Things like Laser Duration, Projectile Speed, Heat generation, LB-X spread, Missile speed, jam chance. All of these would be great to have as an additional way to specialize your 'mech. Right now modules are basically no brainers. Take CD on main weapon, and a which ever mech module suits your role.
