Share your fun little builds. I have 4 commandos atm. I'm working towards or have these builds:

Name:(price)

LRM15 commando:(5,684,735)(AMS+1/2ammo,GECM+Beagle, Tag/Medium/SPulse/etc)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...545f358856d9cee <- 540 ammo. Could use more ammo but is fun to play. You can always rack up lots of points as long range pointer and target holder. I can easily get 150k gold every match and a decent amount of exp.
/w medium laser gecm+beagle and extra ammo:(5,442,855)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2193f63577fa088 <-720 ammo
/w medium laser gecm:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...279a40d6f3b4e47 <- 990 ammo(Recommended with a medium laser)
/w max ammo/w 1t laser:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...411238cbd32aa67 <- 1260 ammo

True max ammo is 1350 /w small laser or 1440 with no laser.

You will not miss the armor on this build.

DoubleERL sniper:(6,356,449)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f0af49e82756255 <- Max 120% range on ERlarge!(810/1620) Legs automatically have 15 armor each(which is not displayed) You can also change out ams and/or beagle for more heatsinks.

/w extra heatsinks:(5,781,979) (you can also keep the original armor layout and only add one heatsink while removing ams+ammo for a midway version so you can still act as target holder for LRMs and direct the group)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...014a8c5118fe6b4 <- Legs are actually 16 armor each.
or
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...3f6ca0759608712
Variant with Large/medium pulse:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4491d11997cf225
Normal build with 2medpulse and 2ssrm:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f9b56bc1a7be1fd

Hero flamer:(4,852,567 MC: 1,875)(or any equal weight armament combo)(Still need the engine on this one. Currently using STD 175 engine. Dear lord the speed!)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...3c3e2a0ba66173e
/w small pulse:(4,920,567 MC: 1,875)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1ac610580bc32b5

You can also exchange a heat sink for ams+1/2 ammo if desired.

Light harasser: (7,008,491)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...5ce28ab23869cbf <- huddle with larger mechs and wait for a distracted enemy and help remove the mechs incoming damage. Helps the team alot. Can be changed for small pulse or medium guns etc. Flamers are more helpful than they look if you use them at the right time. Helps the team win and you can act as light target holder for LRMs.
/w smallpulse:(7,059,491)

The LRM15 Commando is, honestly, a (really) bad idea. I'm not usually this harsh on a build but 64.8 kph in a light mech? You have serious balls, son, to be attempting that.

If you were going to try to have an LRM15 Commando that was in any way serious, I'd take the COM-3A with one LRM15 + Artemis IV launcher since the 3A has the best missile RoF quirk. Then skip the AMS and of course the ECM since the 3A doesn't have a point for it. Put the 2.5 tons you saved from that into engine ratings. (I'd skip the Beagle too even though it is useful; for that matter, on a small mech like that I probably wouldn't bring both Artemis IV and TAG, I'd pick one or the other). I'd use at least a 180 engine but that might not be possible with an LRM15 launcher and 3 tons of ammo mounted. Just by upgrading the engine as much as possible, though, you'll have more internal heat sinks, so you can switch to DHS and have it be crit space-effective.

The LRM15 actually works out really well. it's easy to stay in the back and not get detected in matches because of the GECM. It's just positioning and thinking out where you stand. I win 75% of the time or more with it if i'm not mistaken. It's my easiest build. I'll have to look at the 3A. I had a 15 on this version originally but removed it so the missles fired at once. Would the 15 on the 3A out do 3 5's?

And the proper build is the one with 990 ammo. It removes everything but the Gecm and the medium laser which is actually pretty useful.

I actually really like this build a lot. I use it quite a bit.

Can the 3A fire a 15 in a single volley? Edit: I think it only has 10's. but it could do two 10's and get 900 ammo with over 50% cooling. but it has no GECM so it is vulnerable to missile volleys.

I've found the GECM is really good at keeping you safe.

You really use a build without armor ? I really doubt about it.

Remember, it's a team game. Don't tell you're usefull for your team mates with a light mech that goes 60kph and has no armor ?

EDIT : If you want a more "viable" light LRM mech, try the Lolcust :
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2a13b81c0caca68

Or the Raven :
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0ef7e26c9411cc3

But LRMs on light are really not a weapon of choice.

ECM shouldn't be necessary to avoid missiles on a light mechs. Lights that have properly sized engines can easily outrun LRMs. Especially for low-armor lights like the Commando, speed is your primary and most effective defense mechanism.

Hey man, glad you're having fun with lights. I started out as a light pilot here and over the last few changes have moved away from them as my play style evolved to be more of an ambusher and less of a skirmisher, but I still pick up my lights and have fun with them every now and then. If you like the small pulse commando you've got there you should check out the Firestarter later. It's a bigger target and draws way more fire but it's still fun.

Yea, I've been looking at the fire-starter and the Kodiak 5. Will the kodiak 5 or other variants be available for cbills later?Edit: I will make this on my first kodiak 5 for fun: Cuddles The Angry Bear!! A highly specialized weapon of hugs! (heres my attempt at a serious KDK-5)

Similar to cuddles:(not my video)

(BTW, you can put your flamers into groups and on chain to reduce the heat massivly. Only burst if you need it. That looks decent for hit and runs though.)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...5cad2fb84c86d4d <- I've been using this to get the weeklies. And it's pretty decent for it.

From what I've found. Never underestimate the power of a damage-less pointer laser.

I got a game in it with 177k cbills, 177damage(low, but little ammo), and 1,777ish xp. It was alot of tagdeaths and other odd things.

Edit: I also found a fun trick with the mouse wheel and chain fire. Stick buttons 5 and 6 to also be mousewheel up and down respectively. Set 5 and 6 to whatever you want to chain fire and rock the mouse back and forth. It will rapid fire the chainfire instead of one at a time. And it will fire before it finishes. It lets you quickly fire one off or lots of them rappidly. I also put alpha on mousewheel press. I have a mouse with middle mouse wheel and a back and forth on the side for webbrowsers. It lets me control all five buttons and the alpha strike nicely!

Commando 3A with XL 240, 2LRM5, TAG. Shave armor off Head+L. Arm. Endo+Ferro.
@3.5 tons ammo.

All about that cooldown and TAG focuses the spread better. Troll slow fatmechs to keep them from getting comfy.

No Artemis, un-needed and too heavy.

I run my 1D and 3A with dual ML and dual LRM5, I don't often give them more than an XL210 either, I think most of my runs are using an XL190.

My old favorite is dual SRM6 and 2 small lasers - just go eet big legz!
