Something to neuter the acid would be great it's not funny guys.
but it would be as unimportant and boring as usual.
Hope Nicoruss Bulrensky doesn't announce another vision.

Or at least I hope so, but I fear they could add a top down shooter mode with no heat and unlimited ammunition

Another possibility that occurred to me. Maybe they've updated the sound FX for weapons.

Edit: Random question mark?

I'd put my money on an ED test event on the live servers that Russ has been talking about. Just hope PGI has the sense to set event objectives appropriate for a test environment (like "play at least X different builds for Y hours" instead of the usual "rack up Z KMDDs").

Another possibility is they have made a decision on the game engine and will announce they are upgrading it.

Just saw this too and added it to the OP. I am hopeful for a new map or mode based on this.

I'll be honest, PGI are a bit stupid for talking about or even thinking its feasible for them to switch engines!.
It's not gonna happen guys!, its a silly pipe dream!.

Given the smaller content item tweet, my serious guess is number decals.

Nobody has a reasonable answer as to why only one man possessed the necessary technical knowledge and brilliance to implement the code for ammo switching? Posted Image

You may be right, I wish it could be done though because the current one seems to really be holding things back.. PGI should be familiar with the pitfalls, because Dietmar Houser used a game they worked on (Duke Nukem Forever) as an example of why switching engines is a bad idea.

Most likely the original code is a horrible mess because no one at PGI had experience working with Cryengine when this project started. It may be too costly to unravel it because it could potentially break so much or have unintended consequences. They may really be planning to migrate to a new engine and want to fix it then. Lots of possibilities.

I'll beak from the trend and say:

Somone new is joining PGI -- that or Russ is having Elvis' love child. (Personally i am hoping for the latter -- waiting patiently for the aliens to bring Elvis back).

I'm betting Crytek either provided their own engineer at the beginning or worked closely with original PGI engineer responsible for the work.
And i'm guessing that if you don't know exactly how the code and whatnot was going to be structured it would be almost impossible to actually figure out.

Well, Russ did say the announcement was in regard to a "smaller content item", so that's a possibility...at least based on how PGI has historically defined "development".Posted Image
