that earlier streak build might not be so great either. sure, the firepower and JJs are nice, but this puppy is going to be going slower than Streak-Crows already do, and I've hilariously watched them fail to leave a recon mission in time several times because of it. Honestly, Clanners should really start using, say, Shadow Cats and Vipers for Gather Intel missions at least. Killing the enemy team ain't gonna mean a damn thing if you're too slow to make it back to the Leopard with the intel.

This happens on Grim Plexus reasonably often when the action's at one end of the map, the mechs are mid-speed, and the DZ is at the opposite end behind a screening ridge. It's compounded when they don't have JJs so they can cut corners by hopping it.

A better comparison might be the Stormcrow or Hunchback-IIC. The SCR has around 23 free tons, and the HBK-IIC has around 18 tons once jets and an equivalent engine are equipped for speed parity with the Huntsman (81/87kph). The HNT will have about one more ton of free pod space over the SCR, but with jump jets and less speed (~17kph difference).

Excuse me, sir or madam, but did you just use "HNT" to refer to the Huntsman? The correct designator is "HMN", as shown at the Huntsman Pre-Order Page @ https://mwomercs.com/huntsman. Please, let's not confuse Mech Designators, alright? ;)

I've been thinking that the 2x missile mount arms are probably going to be massive, a la the Summoner. I'm kind of cooling on the idea of running 2x anything on the arms until I get a better look at the geometry PGI put together. It looks like they went outside the arm mounts for energy, when there is a viable space to go right under the top energy mount in the screen shot... soooooo...

The energy option described above was strongly considered, but eventually lost out due to annoying and complicated details.
Secondary missiles are half-a-side of the primary missiles though, not tacked to the outside.

Looks like a Clan Fire Chicken. Big Ol' arms and legs to fall off, and a itty bitty waist/CT to just make it annnoying to have to finish putting em down!?

I'm still wondering if those poor shoulder high mounts will have arm hitboxes (adding to "Fire Chiken Syndrome") or will be made to have ST hitboxes........in which case those might become....um.....unpleasant shall we say!!!

But either way, very smexy little "double kneed freak" of a mech!!!Posted Image
And the Splatsman will probably be annoying/interesting depending on receiving/giving!

Thank goodness.

Hey, Mark... just for a tiny suggestion on a pet peeve of mine... could you look into using the smaller mounting on the Summoner for the torso-mounted SRM 6 launcher? Currently uses the LRM 10-20 mounting, which seems oversized for the launcher in question, being 1.5-3 tons [for a Streak version]. Should be easy to fit as a five point pentagon + middle missile configuration into the space the LRM 5 rack already occupies on the smaller mounting. The Summoner has enough going against it already! LOL

As long as it can keep up with the Nova and Clan Heavies I'm ok with that.

You sarcastic, right?

'cause a lot of clan mechs have quirks, even those that really don't need them.

Anyway no quirks on this mech would be esactly how pgi could screw it up Posted Image

It will only have "Set of 8" quirks that disappear when you move omni pods around. So, in effect, it has no quirks if you want to maximize hardpoints for specific build types.

The Huntsman is one of the ugliest mechs in this game. Sorry

"Pakhet" Lioness faced goddess of War, Inner strength and Women.

Quote

O You of the dawn who wake and sleep, O You who are in limpness, dwelling aforetime in Nedit, I have appeared as Pakhet the Great, whose eyes are keen and whose claws are sharp, the lioness who sees and catches by night

Inscription from the tomb of Pakhet. Thought I would share.

High hardpoints + 5JJ, and you can poptart like a God Posted Image

Oh yeah I forgot about the jumpjets. Looks like it could be a good mech for wall clearing on HPG

I look at the huntsman as being a nova with the FF/Endo bits the Nova has been missing all this time. As to using it with streaks for scouting... I think the ideal streak mech for that is actually the shadow cat. It cruises along at the same top speed as a crow but thanks to the masc it sprints 20% faster, and has jump jets and actual quirkage.

I have been using the s'cat for the medium kmdds a bit and i would agree. Great maneuverability, just fast enough to light hunt and you can jam enemy ecm to help get locks when needed.
