Yes... my LRM90 Night Gyr with head-mounted TAG...

When you jump, the reticle shake ensures you keep missile lock and it's easy enough to sweep TAG around. So, cool down to baseline heat, set all 90 tubes to alpha, jump, tag, fire, and fall down as the last missiles exit the tubes. You land at ~85% heat, and have one very confused/surprised opponent. It's how I hold the front lines (I don't bomb LRMs from the back unless I am left behind by faster teammates).

When it works, it is hilariously amusing. Not what I Would call a Tier1 attack move, but is a Tier1 Good Time.

Yah, yeah... heat blah blah. Just set your 3x LRM20, 2x LRM15 to chain fire if you want to fire 270 missiles before getting too hot. The 90 tube dump is just AWESOME, though.

You know, I think I've seen you doing that. Or some other Night Gyr.

Snuggles did it for his 120 tube Night Gyr video...seemed very effective.

That was probably me. Just no TAG, since I run the lore loadout.

i see nothing wrong with pop tarting at all... it is a valid tactic that was even used by the AI in MW4.
anyone else remember the mission where you had to escort a bunch of trucks.
Before you got to the bridge (which gets blown up) there was one or two mechs pop tarting.
You had to be super aggressive and run up to take them out before they did to much damage.
great fun.
but i digress.

I can only recall one match with you, and with your in game role-playing, I'd think I'd remember it if it was you.

Perhaps this is more common then one would think?

Oh man, that match. That match was a disaster. Didn't help that I was playing while extremely tired and met an entire team face-first with my Adder. Honestly, LRM poptarting has ALWAYS been fun. I do it semi-regularly with my Shadowcat. I would actually be happy if it became popular.

LURMtarting sounds interesting. Unfortunately, with the way JJs are right now, it can be a bit of a pain.

Night Gyr has only 5 missile hardpoints... that's why I do tri-20's and dual-15's... it fits with 10 tons of ammo and TAG and CAP, and a ERLL to take up the remaining tonnage.

Yah, I was actually hoping to shoot you a bit, and then you fell over dead before I could really get into position.

On the plus side, I got all three of my daily missions done in one go, pretty much. Huntsman, Terra Therma, and 95% of my needed match score.

Too bad I can't poptart in my Catapult. Can't really afford the weight of going 100% jump jet.

Yeah, I find the IS LRMs weigh too much to make really goofy loadouts worth it. And with GH you have to fire in groups anyways, so you might as well use the streaming Clan LRMs that weigh half as much.

Also happened in MW3, where you had to escort techs to a broken dam. Twin Avatars were poptarting behind the ruins of the dam and the only way to get them to stop was to rush them.

Man, I miss having a good MW campaign on my PC. The patched MW4 Mercs is just so dated now.

I know I did it a bit with my old founders Catapult and again with the Trebuchet. Kinda hilarious on Canyon Network.

What's the problem here? Still trying to figure out the issue with this tactic.
