Wonder how many twitchers will be pissed they can't bunny hop without jump jets and will add them for that purpose and that purpose alone?

Pull!

^^ kinda what I'm talking about, assuming we don't know the difference in game mechanics, and even an attempt at levity.

Oh, I do plan on getting my bunny hop fix by feathering my jets, the up-down effect is more like a roller coaster tho.

Twitch vs. uh, non-twitch is really more of a re-hashed mouse vs. stick debate.

We'll see how things go in game.

You're missing what I'm talking about, this is so far from being hardware related..

^This!
This game will not determine the winner based on who can pull off the sickes quickscope headshot, but by who is best at keeping track of multiple different things at the same time. (heat, weaponreloadtimes, ammo, range, targetinformation, position of teammates and enemies, situational awareness in general)
Correct me if I'm wrong but that's a bit more than what you have to worry about in twitch-games, in return the combat itself is quite a bit slower. There's simply much more to piloting a battlemech than good reactions, so anyone not used to this kind of combat (twitchgamer or not) will have to spend some time adjusting to it.
Since MW is quite unique in the way it handles combat, I doubt anyone except for MW-vets will have a considerable advantage over anyone else a first...

Short of heat manangement, there's very little difference. You still have to be aware of the location of your teammates, the enemies, how much ammo you have left, how long it takes for my rocket and grenade launchers take to reload, can I afford to reload a weapon now. You can, depending on game and even mod, have a multitude of gadgets that extend the game past click-click-boom....

Our definition of Twitch seems to differ.

In my version I'm thinking I'm the Doctor's little hammer and you're the knee that can't help but just react.......

^^ again what I'm talking about, even if a trolling attempt using a funny

I would rather not have a game like this be twitch...I know my limits and I know I am not getting any younger. My reflexes are not what they used to be ten or twenty years ago...and I am only 34. So to know that MWO depends on brains and skill over pure reaction time is why I am so interested. Not to mention...us older games tend to have more money then a 16 hoped up on jolt...So if we like it...we will pay.

never stated that you did, i simplu implied that i think that this thread will soon turn into people attacking/stario typing twitch gamers and visa versa to the offenders.

I think the term twitch gamer comes with a connotation of limited tactical decision making prowess. The OP may have (imo) been trying to say that twitch gamers are simply gamers that have honed a specific skill set - responding to stimuli in the shortest time possible. That skill set won't be lost just because this game is geared toward tactical play, nor was he (imo) suggesting that MWO be changed to cater to gamers that have honned lightning reflexes.

I believe that he was just saying that gamers with this skill set generally get bad mouthed for being short-sighted or what not (a trait anyone relatively new to the game will have to work on), and that if they weren't so much, it may bring a bigger influx of players in.

Your incitment to violence against taetae kind will not be forgotten.
The only twitching that you will experience is that of your body (in character) after your mech has been blasted out from under you.

I think people should get off of the whole "hyphenated gamer" obsession. I am a Gamer I play MMO's and shooters; RPG's and strategy; racing and even puzzle, If you play one of these or all of these it doesn't matter just enjoy being a Gamer.

You must pick one and enjoy only that!

There's nothing wrong with being a twitch gamer. I think it's the "stereotypical" twitch gamer that's being referred to, and more in the nature of the personality of a younger, short attention span type that demands constant stimulation.

They must be able to get into battle immediately.

They can't accept anything longer than a 5 second re-spawn, and the thought of waiting out a round after you die once is anathema to them

I'm sure that there are lots of "twitchy" guys in these forums and that are going to play the game, I just think that many of us get a bit tired of hearing from the Attention Deficit Disorder gamer about various things they would like to make the game better. They already have tons of games to suit them (CoD especially).

I truely enjoy the ability to headshot opponents as fast as I can click on them, the thing is I will enjoy MWO for a completely different reason, I am a former Tanker IRL and good Mech games give me that feeling of tremendous firepower again.

I plan on cranking my surround system and sitting on the Sub.... :D

And dont forget the sound of the mech's feet stomping the ground. One of my all time fav sounds!
