Top 5 reasons I bought a founder's pack:

1) Support PGI and first MechWarrior game in a decade.
2) Get a great deal on MC/premium account
3) Support PGI and first MechWarrior game in a decade.
4) Get a Jenner I'm probably going to use forever that gives me Moar Money!
5) Support PGI and first MechWarrior game in a decade.

EDIT: Top 5 reasons I didn't get a Legendary founder's pack:

1) I require more minerals money
2) The name is stupid - I'm really tired of the over-use of "Legendary" and "Epic" (thank you Wolrd of BoreCraft).
3) I require more vespene gas money
4) Stone, please! Gold, please!
5) I'm poor. v_v

Legen... Wait for it.. Dary!!!!

I wonder how many founders out there a.t.m.?
Did we really make an effort?
Srsly just think of it. If there are at least 1000 Legends, 1000 Elites and 1000 Vets (just abstract figures) it is just 260k bucks which is not a big deal for gamedev and infrastructure maintenance. I'm not sure that devs are making fortune on us. That's why I respect them.

Use the search, Luke!

As of June 20 there were ~ 10k legendary, ~ 6k elite, and < 1k veteran. The founders program has brought in well over $1.5mm (and that's ignoring anything that's come in after Jun 20)

This is just a quick thread tell us your stories on why you either bought legendary, elite or veteran I'll tell you mine in exchange for all of yours

For me I just wanted to have my name in the credits at the end that was the high light for and I wanted to have all four founder mech's

Same here and to show my support for the MWO and to get in on the ground floor of something big...Long live Mechwarrior online.

Anyway 1,5mil for such kind of project... Don't think that devs will be rollin' in new Lambos after the release.

Erm, they're already an established game studio, started in 2000 by Russ.

While I'm sure the immediate injection of funds is nice... we're actually just "pre-ordering" the game, and at a discount over what it would cost for the same items/perks after launch.

I remebered that i regreted not buying the 'preorder' packs for another game about mechanized warfare with instanced battles and a persistent 'crew' and tech progression. Especially as i ended up spending even more than the included ingame-money. And though i like that specific setting this unnamed game takes place, i like it less than space-robots with laserguns, especially Battletech.

So i first wanted to buy the elite pack, as it seemed like the perfect mix and like i get the maximum of ingame-money from it. Problem was... i realy could not decide what mech i wanted... i knew i could get them all anyway, though with slightly different paintjob and some graphical details... but after a friend went legendary i just followed up on his example and also bought the biggest pack.

Another detail that helped me with my decision, that will hopefuly end up not beein true; a lot of other games translate the prices $=€, and with that in mind i pretty much just paid a minimum more than the included ingame money for the 4 mechs and mechbay slots, which seems like a nice price.

I would have bought legendary if I was not aware of the mighty Atlas' complete, unquestionable, domination of the battlefield which made me just pick Elite.

Why I DIDN'T pick Legendary.

1-We both start playing on the same day as founders, 7th August.
2-MWO recognition seems kind of pointless since there is several hundred of you.
3-We get the exact same amount of money to start out with, $80.
4-Premium can be bought at a later time, the 1 less month doesn't matter to me.
5-I've already got Atlas, why do I EVER want to play anything else? o.O

Why I regret not getting a Legendary founders pack...yet.

1-I would actually like to have my name written down somewhere.
2-Much nicer badge.
3-3 extra founders 'mechs would be nice to have if I get bored of Atlas...perish the thought.
4-You only get this one chance to get the Legendary pack, I'm sure I'll regret it later.

Hmmm...This is indeed a tough choice...>.<

I bought Legendary because...
*Looks at his
Regiment Combat Group in Pewter Figures
Halfmeter on Battletech Rulebooks
4 Mission Boxes for Battletech
2 Meters in Battletech Novells
All Mechwarrior Games Boxes (MW2, MW2 GBL, MW2 Mercs, MW3, MW3 Pirates Moon, MW4, Mw4 Mercs (yeah i know Black Knight missing)
The 200 Dollar Hotas Setup with Pedals
The Battletech Posters on the Wall*

i think i am sucked in in the World of Battletech...

Because i wanted to have more mechs from the begining, and as the founders mechs are quite usefull, i could keem empty mech bay empty for mechs that will came later, while having effectivemechs from the begining.

1. I have been a fan of mechwarrior for quite some time.
2. I've been looking for a new online game to play.
3. I get home from Afghanistan at about the same time as the founders pack starts so I just think it was meant to be.
4. Last would be that I would rather spend the money and find out later it wasn't worth it then to not spend the money and find out later it would have been worth it.

I purchased the Elite package because:

1. Wanted to show my support for the game. (Have played almost all other MW games)

2. Liked the idea of the bonus to C-bills for life of game

3. It comes with Paid Subscription for a few months (extra exp and C-bills)

4. Couldn't afford Legendary and didn't want to miss opportunity waiting for next paycheck (Will upgrade if still available next payday)

5. Wanted to be able to start earlier than general release

edit due to posted without completion of post

I will be going for the Elite when I get my first paycheck this year. Legendary doesn't appeal to me 'cos there's only 1 mech I would pilot on a regular basis - the Hunchback. I intend to get a number of the non Founders mechs as soon as possible after I start playing and see how the game goes. Been at it since BattleDroids and I'm not quite past it yet :)
