Hello everyone

I'm living in middle of nowhere when it comes to a Battletech fanbase or any product support. Our shops even do not have Battletech stuff in stock, everything must be imported.

I want to buy the Introductory box set but it's nowhere to be found. I've also tried the amazon shops but it seems to be sold out. Only rulebooks are available.

Is there any new version comming out or am I out of luck? Does anyone know some international e-shop that has them in stock? I would be gratefull for any information.

Sorry for my English, I'm from Czech Republic so it's not my native language. :)

I don't really have a answer to this but I can relate. I live in Tooele, Utah, USA and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find anything CBT related in stores. I too have to order everything online. But I do hope they release a new Box Set.

It was out this spring. You're talking about the new box with the heavy cardboard map, the set of plas-tech minis and the 2 nicers clan plastic minis, right?

They are looking to reprint the boxed set, the problem is manufacturing and shipping that beast has been quite the adventure.

Randall Bills talked about that boxed set and the Leviathans! boxed sets being hampered due to many problems beyond their control.

No date yet as to when they'll get them, and no estimates on the date since that isn't how Catalyst does things.

Yes, I'm talking about the last 25th anniversary box set. It caught my attention but it's sold out already as far as I can see. :(

I would like to start somehow with the Table top game but it's so hard from my current location as there is literaly vacuum of Battletech here. The only thing that I can aquire without problems are the PC games ... Mechcommander 1 and Mechwarrior 3 are one of my most favorite so far.

As difficult as it sounds for you to get stuff, and unless you are just really set on this particular box set & rule varient, you may want to consider a little more customized to you.
If you can find local Mech mini pewter like Iron Wind, you could build & paint your own indivdual Mechs that you really like to run & just download some of the Quickstart rule sets online for free. Like here:
http://bg.battletech.com/?page_id=27

I'm not stomping on any game issues here, just suggesting you might enjoy more/longer after paying for that $50 purchase, import duties bribes etc etc for thew box set. A little more you, you know.
And your English is just fine, Welcome.

Hmm, that's a good suggestion. I could use the printed rules and order my favorite mechs from UK for example ... but, are there any scans of the battlefields that I could use? Or can I use any hexagon like printouts? I did not read the rules yet so I'm not sure how much of information is needed from the ground it self.

TiredOne's link to the Quick Start stuff is a great help for you then. Typically the small map provided just has trees and normal ground since that's what the rules cover in the pdf. As for maps, just make your own using any hex grid because the gaming police won't bust down your door. :)

Should be a way around.
Agree, if you must wait, wait for the Lance you really want stting in front of you. There should be plenty to get you learning rules now while waiting for the good stuff.
Some websites like these have little print files for Mech cards which when folded in half, will stand up on your hex map to play while still indicating For/Rear facings. I wish I could send you to the exact files, but I don't recall their location, I think PRI maybe. Cruise both sites anyway, tons of assist.:
http://www.pryderockindustries.com/
http://www.solaris7.com/

As to hex size, we screen most of our 3D foam at 1 5/16", or what about 3.3cm flat to flat.
You can also play on any surface with those measurements known, as you will see many Tourny's played on unmarked 3D. They simply have tape measures.
Don't need to spend $50 to start today. :)

No problem my friend. I was trying to locate those folder Mechs but did not. They are there somewhere. If not, tear the back off your notepad and cut the cardboard into 1" x 3" strips, fold in half and write Atlas F on one side & Atlas R on the other and grab your tape measure.

You can grab any TRO for a Mech you would like to test spin here:

Good luck on exams.

Hey Oreic Lets not be giving Utah any more knocks. I liver IN eagle Mountian and know that we do have a hard time with battletech info. Just be grateful that we do have onluine support. I just makes us eager for the snail mail or UPS to bring the packages.

Thankfully i retire in may and will be able to sit home and get the stuff without haviing the kkids make me search for it evry time i order anything.

Found the exact URL for the folded cardstock mech counters, http://www.pryderock..._boards.php#CTR

also the box set record sheets PDF includes fold-able counters. http://bg.battletech...th_Counters.pdf

I learned Battletech with counters like these, so I wholeheartedly recommend using them to try the game out.

My copy arrived the other day, Think I managed to get one of the few left in the UK.

The heavy board maps are a nice change form the old paper ones, and the Hellbringer and Summoner and fantastic bits of plastic though they do look massive compared to everything else which is still a big problem with the figures in that nothing is scaled properly, but by god the basic plastic 20 mechs are atrocious,

They just need a little TLC. Trim the flash, put them on a hex base, prime, paint, flock the base and they are fine.
