A mix of great music, No Guts No Galaxy podcasts, and some of the most hilariously awesome commercials you'll ever hear - HyperPulse Radio is a fantastic fan-run, non-profit 'MechWarrior radio station.

Keep up the awesome work S3dition - I listen to it all day at work, every day. Yes, every. Day.

Thanks Garth!

The idea: create an internet radio station that can broadcast music, news and updates for MWO/Battletech, and keep players updated on the MWO metagame (who controls what). This can even include broadcasting battles, fake ads and the like. This also includes radio shows if enough people are interested in them.

All the music uses the creative commons license, the equipment will run open source/GNU software and HyperPulse Radio will remain non-profit. Everyone can contribute material provided it is original (they own it and are willing to grant unrestricted permission for its use) and it fits the Battletech universe.

It is currently streaming about a dozen albums and the No Guts No Galaxy Podcast. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to drop me a line at hyperpulseradio@gmail.com.

The schedule is currently being revised

======================================================================================

Current Radio Schedule (All times in PST GMT -8):

4am - 6am: Dropship and Coffee - Great for listening to some music while warming your coffee on a fusion engine.
6am - 8am: Variety Pack - Does it belong in the ammo can or trash can? This is where we mix and match music for you to try out. Disclaimer: Not battle tested. Use with caution.
8am - 10am: Variety pack - Because getting through the the commute and into the battlefield takes more than a cup of coffee. Lock and load with some Heavy Metal.
10am - 12pm: Solaris Prime Time! Filling that stretch from the morning break to the lunch break. Hey, being a MechWarrior is no picnic, but it beats clerical work.
12pm - 2pm: Lunchbreak - Even MechWarriors get the munchies.
2pm - 4pm: Afternoon Dropship - Nothing is more satisfying than victory music on the dropship ride home. Unless you're taking the heads of your defeated enemies with you.
4pm - 7pm: Solaris 7 - Coming Soon!
7pm - 9pm: Dustoff - Every day is a good day when you're victorious!
9pm - 12am: Lost Transmissions - These guys have been bouncing around in space for a while.
12am - 2am: Midnight Metal - for the insomniacs out there. And the other side of the world.
2am - 4am: Alternative Beats - Rock without metal for softer listening.

S3dition,
Do you have any standard formatting for commercials, jingles, etc for the station? My voice sounds like a cat stretched over hot coals, but I can probably get some friends to read some stuff (whether I write it or yank it out of the old battletech mags).

I figure you guys are still looking filler, yes?

Oh and also, there has to be some peeps in bands in here, those could fall into free to play, I'm surprised someone hasn't offered actually.

By formatting do you mean file types? If so, then mp3, wav, or ogg are fine. I can convert them, and generally do some editing in audacity before uploading.

I'm always look for good BattleTech content. Feel free to send any of your material to hyperpulseradio(at)gmail(dot)com.

Nobody has offered up any music just yet. If someone is interested, there is the 12 Days of BattleTech Christmas that would fit the season :)

Well, we only have one station, but I can definitely add some reggae to the variety pack. Thanks for the suggestion!

Seems like the station is down atm. If you need someone to check in everyone in awhile and give it a kick if it's not working let me know.

Sorry about that everyone. I was slammed over the holiday season with work and guests. I'm back at it again, though. There are a few changes happening on the radio station:

Everyone welcome Evernigh, a new scheduler that will be helping me out with content.

I'm changing the NGNG podcast marathon so that there will be music during those hours. Stay tuned for scheduling information.

I'm also adding more bands to increase the variety of music. I haven't had any luck with Reggae, but I'll keep looking!

And we're still looking for people to help with scheduling, even if it's only a couple shows a week. All you really need is internet access, the rest is super easy. Send me a PM if you're interested.

EDIT: I updated the main post with new bands and shows.

Thanks for listening, everyone!

We're currently working on nesting a player into the new NGNG website. The station may pop on or off as we stick screw drivers into places best left alone.

We'll let everyone know when it's ready to go :)

We're getting slammed here in Western Washington. We just got power back up, but it's still flickering, and could go out at any time. PSE is working in 560 locations, and 230,000 people are currently without power with temperatures dropping to 29 degrees.

We've been watching transformers explode all over the city (and I have to say it looks absolutely awesome ^^). The server will be down until I know that the power is going to be stable.

Currently, everything is incased in ice, including vehicles, plants, and probably people:

Whats that? Ice... BAH THAT IS NO EXCUSE! Be like BIG STRONG CANADIANS and politely ask the ice to please go.... please?

No in all honesty that picture is awesome and I remember back to some ice storms and the problems they cause and because of this I wish you to stay safe if you are in that area.

Well, current weather forecasts are apparently Wrath of God with chance of Armageddon. Just regained power... again. This is one of the worst winters we've had in a while. Radio will be back up soon.

Sorry about that everyone. The truth is, I'm unable to keep up with program scheduling along with everything else. It was simply taking too many hours to find songs, sample songs, build playlists and schedule them.

So, I've re-worked the system. The radio now feeds off of winamp, which runs through all the music on random. This means I can just drop songs into the media folder and winamp will automatically load them. It also opens the door for live broadcasting, though I haven't configured that yet. Also, I'm working with jplayer for a web based player that you can stick onto a website. I have it working internally, so I'll probably need some people to help test it in a couple days 8).

The link has changed to CORRECTION!
http://sunforged.net/hpr

I also added music from one of our own members: Kaemon and his band "Death by Hula."
