My callsign is Asland, why:
1) My real name is Lyon (Aslan in Turkish and also Aslan from the Narnia novels)
2) Aslan gets taken fairly quickly so I add a "d" at the end because in the BBC radio version I heard as a kid the actors added a "d" sound at the end of his name.
3) My first internet experience was with IRC chat rooms and I quickly adopted Asland as my callsign due to a pun - the first thing most people ask in IRC is "A/S/L?" (Age/Sex/Location) So I just added the "and" for A/S/L/and?

I'm pretty sure your Callsign and MechWarrior name are different.

For example, I am <First Name> "Serpentine" <Last Name>, but in combat, I would be Gunslinger 1-2 (Or which ever number member I am. 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, or even 2-2, etc.)

Gunslinger 1-1 would be the Lance Leader.
Gunslinger 1-2 to 1-4 would be Lancemates.

Gunslinger 2-1 would be the Lance Leader of the 2nd Lance
And so on.

This is dominant is the real world military, especially the Air Force.

Good point Serpentine. Depends on how much we want to reflect that world. I have no problems with calling Metro "Mini-me Six" during any ops we may run.

Just saying.

Despite my former military callsigns - Ghostrider 15, Banshee 15, CrazyHorse 33, Bandit 33, and Dragon 33, I chose T Rex (just "Rex" in game) for the connotation it brings, combining both prehistoric and science fiction.

I do not have any callsign. :D
Enemies do not live long enough to get to know it and allies will be too busy to stare at my skills with mech to ask for it.

now now Addy, a little humility is the Capellan creed.... ^_^

Jasin, does that mean you're Dr. Evil? LOL

Mini-me Six... priceless... alright, Mini-me... I mean, Metro, hehe, you've had it now, buddy. ^_^

Bill or Knight but never Will, i live in fear of a misinterpretation of the order "FIRE AT WILL!"

Callsign Webclaw. Was what my uncle, who is now deceased, useto use in multiplayer games, thought I'd continue on his legacy by adopting it myself.

Like a lot of others, I signed up using my callsign rather than my pilot name. I've used Devilman since MW2, when I used to listen to a lot of White Zombie while playing ("Devil man" is the refrain from "Super Charger Heaven").

(odd Spanish accent) Do not fire at Will, he is my First Mate! (/odd; I think that's from Animaniacs, isn't it?)

Not too sure at the moment. It'll probably either be Karn Evil, Gonzo, or Dr. Gonzo. Considering my fondness for quick mechs, sneaking about, and general insanity, they're all reasonably apt.

Of course, if I'm not the one choosing it, it'll probably be something insinuating odd things about myself and/or my mother. So long as it isn't Oeddy, I'll be fine with it, though.

I loaded up MPBT:Solaris on AOL for the first time and was asked to enter a handle, so chose Sniper 2000. Once I joined the Black Roses, the call sign Cdt. Sniper 2000 <Black Roses> just looked horrible, so I removed the 2000. From there it stuck, especially after being known for my precision in a BlackJack in Medium Sanctioned matches.. oh, and decapitating Stalker/Marauder II's at will ;-)

My call sign is from my chosen career as an Army military journalist and broadcast specialist. It's also tribute to the original GI Journalist, Pulitzer Prize winner Ernie Pyle, who is famous for sharing the perspective of the common soldier during World War II with the American people.

Too bad Addy would be considered a female name in my country, but... Oh, I should not have said that. ;)
